It amazes me how much apple take people for granted, I mean, they sound like they have created MMS, copy paste, bluetooth, these features been around for a decade now in phones.

it's amazing and very upsetting.

Wow! how the world works sometimes is unbelievable!

A decade ago?

In march 1999?

When there were no colour screens, camera's, MMS, Bluetooth, 2.5G GPRS, phone memory in Kb's, etc.

Would you mind posting a link to this futuristic phone from a decade ago?

Meanwhile people have been busy unravelling the hardware strings in the beta and this is what they've found;-

iPhone 1.1 = iPhone
iPhone 1.2 = iPhone 3G
iPhone 2.1 = ??? (this was mysteriously sighted surfing websites some time ago).
iPhone 3.1 = ??? (This is new)

There are similar strings for the iPod touch indicating two new iPhones and two new iPhone touch's.

There is also another one which is even more mysterious.

> In reply to jaSz @ 2009-03-19 22:54 from m}9e - click to readNot quite the same sound quality, close but not right up there.

If you look at the tests gsmarena did you will see iPods, iPhone 3G and some Samsungs have the highest sound quality, as mentioned in the review of the 5800(and the Samsung i8510).

This is easily proven by looking at the figures obtained in lab tests, not just a subjective opinion.

The Samsungs are there because they manufacture the audio chips for Apple and have also used them in some of their phone's.

> In reply to The Lord @ 2009-03-19 08:37 from M3gi - click to read@ The lord - You've said "the 5800 is far worse than the iPhone. It is so bad, that it has been withdrawn from sales in the US.", maybe that's because Apple rule U.S. electronics market, with the fever of Macbooks, ipods, iphones, etc. I like Apple, my laptop is a Macbook Pro, it's super, i also have an ipod nano 8GB. But my handsets were always Nokia, here in Europe the apple's fever is quite lower.
Btw, right before launching the 5800 Nokia said clearly that 5800 wasn't an iPhone competitor, that it was just a music phone, with touch screen.
I bought the 5800 just because i can finally leave my ipod at home and have the same sound quality on this phone and i can navigate with Opera on it over wi-fi while listen to music or FM Radio, that called multitasking, and besides that 5800 have a independent audio processor exclusive for music so that the phone never get sloppy if they are too many applications opened at the same time.
I dont use the camara, nor video ever. 5800 can handle 36 hours music playback, iphone can handle 24h playback, i like iPhone, Nice minimal design, the menus are very responsive, mainly because it doesnt have multitask so the CPU and the memory are always free.
I was going to buy the iPhone but the 8GB version costs 509eur and the NK5800 ships with a 8GB mem card for 364eur, so i bought Nokia, but if the iphone were at 364eur I guess I'll be in trouble to choose one from this two. =)

Best regards.

> In reply to [deleted post]You know what Momo? The more I see you here, the more I think that you may possibly be an iphone lover who is in denial, lol. Here are the signs and symptoms :)

1. You can't stay away from iphone articles
2. You are very updated on what's new with the iphone
3. You look forward to what's coming up with the iphone
4. You can't wait to see what the next gen iphone would look like
5. You walk-in the Apple store every time you walk by it and play with the iphone (hahahaha)
6. You walk out the store and say, "what a dumb phone", yet you walk back in there again the next time you're in the area
7. You think about the iphone every day and can't seem to get it out of your mind (LOL)
8. You count the days until June 1 to see what the other features are that haven't been revealed yet in the 3.0 OS

Oh my goodness, now that I'm thinking about it, I think you're obsessed with the iphone, hahahahahaha.

most people who can afford the iphone have both. most people i KNOW with or without iphone have both.

apple realises that phones only have superb cameras for show. no one really needs them because if people are really into photography in their everyday lives, they'd have a digicam with them.
