Android silver please most important thing you should keep is that bold digital clock i love that please i am crazy for that bold clock. And please keep micro SD slot upto 128 GB support and internal built in storage just 64/128 GB and not never 8/16/32. Only snapdragons with most powerful LTE radios to be used please and nothing else. If waterproofing IP67 and xenon flash is possible it will be very splendid. And lastly please keep that squarish texture at the back of the device as well please keep and maintain this standard and you will always kill iShit apple forever and ever. Long live google and android.
google is now being like nokia. coming up with stupid ideas and ruining the reputation.
Anonymous, 30 Apr 2014micro sd? are you kidding me why are you still living gin the past, micro sd cards makes phone... moreexternal storage makes your phone laggy? lololol... is the external drives needs a process and cpu to do so? NO! its just the same as browsing your files (using the galary or any file explorer manager) that use the process. but the storage doesn't use RAM or CPU to run. its just always there in your phone any time you need it.
but yeah! only boothing.
Anonymous, 30 Apr 2014micro sd? are you kidding me why are you still living gin the past, micro sd cards makes phone... moreWhy doesnt Nexus devicesa support USB flash drives? Because they want us to use cloud.
Why do you want a big fat USB flash drive hanging from a cable when you can put a small card inside your phone?
You dont make sense, contradicting yourself.
AnonD-249598, 30 Apr 2014It may be easy for you to say but to people who use smart phones in parts of Asia and Africa, ... moreforgot to say one more thing in my previous post
they are doing these (no ext memory slot and non removable battery) to make phone dust proof water proof
So they're renaming the nexus line to try to compete with apple and sammy, that's all I got from this article. Market the nexus line properly and you could probably do that, I have a nexus 5 and nobody i work with knows what it is, or had even heard of it before I got one.
This is like a coverup reason to increase the price of their smartphones
timely updates and no bloatware is already offered, though the updates are given after a week or 2 after the new version rolls out
Anonymous, 30 Apr 2014micro sd? are you kidding me why are you still living gin the past, micro sd cards makes phone... moreIt may be easy for you to say but to people who use smart phones in parts of Asia and Africa, it's very important since there is no good Internet speed to use cloud storage effectively
by the way are you talking about lag due to external memories? come on man these are not 10 MB ram phones, these are flash ship phones which have 2ghz speed and min of 2gb rams. So don't bother about that
why the companies avoiding ext slots is to promote their cloud storage services and to reduce the form factor
Anonymous, 30 Apr 2014micro sd? are you kidding me why are you still living gin the past, micro sd cards makes phone... moreMyth buster: SD card does not make your phone slow.
To properly use android to the fullest, sd slot is a must + 128gb internal. or more.
Anonymous, 30 Apr 2014micro sd? are you kidding me why are you still living gin the past, micro sd cards makes phone... moreI guess you didn't read my comment properly! The point is Google's trying to push "cloud storage" in lieu of micro SD as they know the internal storage on most phones is pathetic. That's a pretty useless option 'cos of data caps n lack of connectivity at many places. And with the advent of UHD content in the near future a theoretical phone with even 128 GB internal can be crammed up in no time. Expandable storage is always good and is one of the reasons why Samsung still sells big despite having lame iterative designs n poor build quality. Google knows that real well and their answer is truly "up in the clouds"! Lol! That's why they've stopped SD support so that Google n their partners can max out the moolah! It's also a major reason why they resent Sammy's success!
AnonD-73765, 30 Apr 2014Won't be very silvery if they continue to come without micro SD support n removable batteries!... moreAre you 8 yrs old or something? Playing games all the time? Why in the earth would you need 128 gb on your phone????Simple cloud services easily provides 20-30 gb.
Removable battery for what????.
Seriously grow up!
AnonD-73765, 30 Apr 2014Won't be very silvery if they continue to come without micro SD support n removable batteries!... moremicro sd? are you kidding me why are you still living gin the past, micro sd cards makes phones laggy, what we need is more options even a 128GB version, and OTG USB support.
they better stick with "Google Play Edition" devices.
and I was waiting for Nexus 6 :'(
Won't be very silvery if they continue to come without micro SD support n removable batteries! If they really wanna stymie Samsung, those 2 features are absolute imperatives! Thus far Nexus devices, apart from providing the vanilla droid experience have been more or less mid-tier at best! Google's gotta change all that and hey Google your "up in the cloud" concept isn't cool or feasible for most folks, we need local storage and phones with higher internal storage. ALL flagships should come with 32 GB and 64 GB options. It's 2014 for crissakes, we oughta have had 64 GB and 128 GB internal options as standard fare by now. Instead, we get a laughable 16 GB (approx 8-12 GB usable depending on your device) in "flagship" devices in this day n age!ROFLMAO!I'm sure there'll be the "use SD card" comments, but, post Kitkat you can't install most apps on SD in the few devices that do support 'em and it's thus necessary to have higher internal storage. The only things which increase year after year are the sizes n prices of the devices!
Google, please, oh please, make your vanilla android phones with an SD card slot this time.
