Norshan. . . . perhaps you have updated your Firmware or retore your fone to its factory settings that's why your inbox and folders were erased. . . you should have backed all you files up before updating you fone's firmware...

* to those fones that crashes. i guess it crashes everytime your fone switches to landscape and portrait mode. Remedey to that is to use a theme that is not heavy for your fone. coz there are themes that consumes a lot of memory. And if you love that theme. You could turn off the THEME effects settings on SETTINGS>PERSONAL>THEMES>GENERAL AND under OPTIONS menu, click "Theme Effects" and choose off. And this will help your fone to be more effecient in transitions of menus and view modes.

Crashed so many times during update now seems in a cycle of telling me to take out battery and retry. 1 second left but it just has been like that for an hour - what do I do?

> In reply to Gene @ 2009-03-30 16:06 from uS}PFinally, i have updated my phone's software to v.20 just this afternoon, thanks for the JAF application, even if my phone code version is still not yet included in the software update, i was able to update it just by changing the phone's version code to the version code where the software update is available. If your unit is still not yet supported by the update, i advise you, don't wait for so long, just change your code, search in google- Nokia 5800 JAF , i can say that its really safe, just follow the instructions, after you change the code, you can now update it to the latest software, after you update, change again to your original phone code so that the warranty will not be affected, experience now the v.20 software update, so I'm super happy coz my phones functionality is so great now. I mean, the touchscreen is super responsive than ever, and the built-in dictionary is complete and very useful, you can now take photos using the secondary camera, there's already geo-tagging support, and there's a lot, lot and a lot more improvements on my phone after the software update, now, with the benefits and super-improved features of the phone, i really can proudly say that- Nokia 5800 is really the best phone in town! Two-thumbs up!

nokia 5800 v20 firmware update method

if you want to upgrade to the latest firmware v20 , you have to change your product code
certain product codes can be updated to v20, but some are still not(only up to v11)
here are the list of product codes
http://www.n95users.com/forum/...t-codes.html

then go to check your product code see whether your product code can be updated to v20 or not
http://www.nokiausa.com/get-su...can-i-update

if not, you have to change your product code by referring to the list given above
http://www.nottinghamjazz.co.uk/blog/?p=66

after changing your product, go for device software update
http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163?5800

before you update, disable your phone lock first

download the nokia software updater, install it, connect your phone to your pc, update it

after updating to v20, you can change back to your original product code

good luck!

> In reply to Neo @ 2009-04-03 05:11 from uSWIU said it's a cheap looking, under rated phone. Have you even used it? First of all. it's a 5XXX series. Do you expect it to be wrapped in Gold? 99% of the phones out there are plastic, HELLO? you are complaining to NOKIA because you THINK it sucks. Grow up.

I have used this phone for almost 4 months and it's a very nice looking & reliable phone. Yes, it's not as smooth as the Iphone but it IS more reliable as the battery is 10X better. All the other functions are very good as well. So don't complain on something if u haven't even touched the touchscreen

Why Nokia! WhY? Why did you disappointed us by giving such a half-baked, cheap looking, under rated touch phone. I thought Nokia will be the one to beat iphone's supremacy. I hope there's still a lot of your touch phones to come. I don't want to spend my hard earned money to something that won't satisfy me.
