Apple is now scared of Android rival and now they are trying copy the features of Android OS which they recently introduced. Now, they understood the importance of liberty of the app developers and trying to woo them. The future may be Apple Vs Google.
lol! I thought I will buy new Ipad Air since I had Ipad2 which may not have iOS 8... face palm, ipad 2 still has os updates..
lol they are giving away fingerprint of users to 3rd party developers, but besides that seems nice update but still ios needs real multitasking when it gets it it should come closer to competition in terms of productivity
molisem, 03 Jun 2014iPhone 4 won't get the update in order to get you to purchase another iPhone. It's business, s... moreiPhone 4 will not receive the update because it's too old, it has a 1Ghz single-core processor. And why are you people complaining? It has been supported for 4 years now! Come on, just look at the Galaxy SIII, which is just 2 years old and it have been forgotten by Samsung.
Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014I'm on KitKat and still using Flash. Just needed to install a modified version from xda forum. Oh, of course! The average user will access XDA Dev for downloading flash (irony) I never missed flash in iOS neither on Windows Phone

Unknown, 03 Jun 2014Y is the update (iOS 8) not for iPhone 4?iPhone 4 won't get the update in order to get you to purchase another iPhone. It's business, swipe swipe swipe.
doesn't excite me anyway though. still long way to go for Apple devices as its very much controlled env, i used Iphone 4 for 3+yrs week back moved to HTC one and good i have done tht.
Sunogui, 03 Jun 2014Probably because Apple officially took iPhone 4 out of the supported devices as regards mainte... moreApple are probably out of spare parts for the 4 now anyway. Some say it might not be powerful enough to run IOS8 but another reason is because Siri is not on 4 model as well and its using old 30 pin connector so best get rid..Time to get an up to date phone.
That said just like Symbian smartphones the 4 will continue to work..
Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014Still better then android, after 18 months updates are no longer available... Most of the devices can be updated with a custom Android version. Like the very old ZTE Blade can be easily updated to the latest Android KitKat. XDA is a big help for that.
Probably because Apple officially took iPhone 4 out of the supported devices as regards maintenance. iOS 9 will be available to 5 and onwards probably. One core processor is too little to work with.
Is it just me or all this thing apple did is quiet boring??? Nothing so exciting that cause me to move to iOS from android...
Wow Apple... What it do what it do? iOS is the equivalent of paging through a book i.e. swiping through screens of static square icons. Android on the other hand is like handling a Z-card with nooks and crannies.
The unreliability I experienced on iOS when I was a user was unacceptable considering how light and basic the OS architecture is. What is so difficult about turning a book's pages? The thing would freeze and crash.
Perhaps I should recommend iOS to my folks, the elderly and geriatric community. The power user that I am needs a nimble & comprehensive OS. Android is that OS. Apple released Android 2.2.3 Froyo features last night. It's 2014. I ain't got time for that.
Unknown, 03 Jun 2014Y is the update (iOS 8) not for iPhone 4?cause ios7 broke the 4 why would they use ios8 on it...hardware isnt compatible.
Metal will result in some superb games on iOS, Extensibility and Continuity will be incredible to use. Great thinking to unify the desktop and mobile OS.
