Hmmm... Some Samsung fans have been complaining here on the net that Sony's wider gamut of their "Triluminos" display (Z2) produces "inaccurate" or unnatural colors. And Samsung's display (S5) is still the best because it does not have a wider gamut of colors. So if this new tech is applied by Samsung, does this mean Samsung fans shot themselves at the foot? Talk about fanboi nuttery.
This is QLED. sony is a LCD with backlight. Very different. "This tech has been used for a while in Sony's Triluminos displays and LG has been collaborating with QD Vision, the MIT offshoot behind the quantum dot technology"
WOW....Samsung copies again. sharp quattron uses this technology for years. also sony triluminous...
Anonymous, 10 Jun 2014lol...samsung copies again. sharp quattron uses this technology for years. also sony triluminous...Based on ur logic, Sony, Sharp, LG, and Samsung all copied MIT.
By copying, did u mean turning ideas into useful implementation and making them cheap enough for regular consumers?
Or, did u mean Apple copying LG Prada for modern smartphones and tons of technologies and designs from other companies and marketing them as revolutionary and innovative?
Or, u have no clue what "copying" means in the corporate world outside of junior high school?
All the tech news are wrong this is not Quantum dot tech. True Quantum dots don't need any back light or Blue LED or anything. They are self emitting like OLEDs.
Z1 and ZU used the one with Blue LED it's not true quantum dot. Just marketing. It flopped too.
Z2 doesn't even use quantum dot in any shape or form. It's IPS.
It's just marketing folks until they actually use true quantum dots. True Quantum dots have no degradation to water like OLED, the materials last longer and the gamut is far better.
True Quantum dots no has it in phones till date.
Anonymous, 10 Jun 2014lol...samsung copies again. sharp quattron uses this technology for years. also sony triluminous...If anyone patented this first......
Say what?! I didn't realize my Z1C have this QD technology for the whole time! Seriously, I did not notice about this tech that I'm currently using it.
AnonD-271557, 10 Jun 2014I think the sony xperia Z2 tablet(And also Z2) have used the QUANTUM DOT which is known as Tri... moreI just check Sony Xperia Z2 specs. I think it is using quantum dot too since its Triliminus. Am I right? If that's the case, personally I prefer SAMOLED screen. I think SMOLED screen color is more vibrant and viewing angle is better. Is my personal opinion though. I don't worry too much about color accuracy. Cheers...
some fruit company will patent it and sue everyone
Sony hasn't perfected it yet. Go samsung & LG. New tech, new innovations, better future
I think the sony xperia Z2 tablet(And also Z2) have used the QUANTUM DOT which is known as Triluminos display combined with X-Reality Engine. But if it compares the Super Amoled screen,It sure will win!.I think it was a mistake by samsung not just using that anymore.I have the Xperia Z2 Tablet now and also had the Tablet 3 10.1.And if you talk about LG,They were not counted on the good screen lists(Also not because their own technology like the Samsung and sony was not used). This is a great news now and I think Life's good and Samsung should work on it,other than making a High-Resolution Screens to make it look better,Still they lose. The reason bieng is the SONY is the best in introducing all new Technologies :)
If Sony used it, the tech wasn't anything special in real world.
lol...samsung copies again. sharp quattron uses this technology for years. also sony triluminous...
