I am using a Note 3 and Lumia 925 concurrently, Note 3 have most of my attention due to the large screen. Lumia 925 is mainly for making phone calls. Use an Iphone 4 many years ago but don't like it due to the small screen size. Blackberry bold 9000 was good when it came out but lagged like crazy after 2 years, don't think will ever go back to iphone or blackberry anytime soon.
TrinYa, 26 Jun 2014Did u guys say "$8.4 trillion" ?? I mean Dollars? It will be in Korean Won, which is about 1,000 won to 1 USD. It will be a long time for any company to earn 1 trillion dollars in 3 months, human population need to multiply by 10 times or more or price have to increase like crazy.
I think Samsung's low earning in Q2 is partly due to Galaxy S5 inability to attract more customers, which is a result of S5 unattractive design despite having finger print scanner.
Gary5, 26 Jun 2014Another reason for shrinking profits can be reduced selling price under pressure. Galaxy S5 l... morecomparing online price vs store price is not correct . But we can get S5 for 38 to 40K and with that smasung is giving lots of offers.
Rason for drastic drop in price is not the reason for redcution in revenue. Its actually sales is pretty bad that prices r going down.
For the price of a crappy low end Samsung phone you get a high end high quality local phone. Choice is easy...
Chuck, 26 Jun 2014Market is now filled. What they expect? Then all companies would have to also report a downtrend.
LG however has seen a sales surge, and profits also increased. Same with Apple.
Conclusion therefore is that sales have fallen, and perhaps other companies picked up those sales.

Galaxy S5 l... moreSome analysts conclude that it is simply due to poor sales, which Samsung have tried to cover up with their 'shipped' vs 'sales' statistics. In the end, truth always comes out though.
Another reason for shrinking profits can be reduced selling price under pressure. Galaxy S5 launched in India for Rs 51000 (£510) 2 months ago is repositioned at Rs34900(£349).
But i thought droid sites said Samesung galazy s5 shipped more than the s4 by 10 units in same time? Or so they paid tropl sites to report fake news about their sales. Yeah samsung will have nowhere but lose to other android devices with more beautiful design, higher quality etc.
Very simple reason- other China makers can make a better & more cost effective smartphone.
Anonymous, 26 Jun 2014I went from iphones to android on the S2 then Note > Note 2 > Note 3... and maybe Note 4... moreGood luck finding your next inferior phone. 1 year a new phone rofl. Slow down man.
iPhone is still the preferred mobile phone.
Bye bye Samsung S2,S3, going for LG G3 with higher spec and half price contract then the S5 in Singapore. Note 3 is good but after so many Samsung boring face, is time to change. The world is changing, Motorola --> Nokia --> Samsung---> LG .. :)
