Tarcisiorm, 09 Jul 2014I'll not comment about the americans who kills a lot of kids in the schools because of nothing... moreOh really?? 35 million dollars worth of stuff were stolen from Samsung's Brazilian factory
amigo, 09 Jul 2014I hate to say that we keep blaming others, the fault lies in us as a human race. who are hungr... moreWell said. Most humans would rather have someone else's suffering than their own happiness.
you people need to stop complaining about security in all its forms.
all this "woe is me" and "its racist" comments from some of u is very immature.
if u got nothin to hide then live with the system. you would soon change your mind if you was on a flight that in some way got embroiled in a terrorist act
I hate to say that we keep blaming others, the fault lies in us as a human race. who are hungry to prove the boss boss. I fail to understand how come the R&D 4 most advanced weapons happens in the 1st world and still the technology lands up with the 3rd world. Then the common people of the 3rd world who have nothing to do with all of this have to go through the ordeal. what does NSA, or MI6 or other intel agencies do??? Why cant the simple humans be left alone, why do they have to suffer and pay the price for others deeds. This being said I always believed human race is was and will be hypocrite. Ironically this race does not want to better itself but rather destroy others. The society has become such a vicious place that it keeps reaching new lows daily in my view. I mean how pervert could we get that we have paedophile's in our society. Shame on us as human race. And to top it all in the name of safety and security we keep building new weapons day in and day out. Sometimes I think the stone age was the best time this earth might have had for humans, the way we keep consuming natural resources in the fight for better lives. & ironically keep destroying nature the very means of our existence. I could go on and on. Bottom line-What we are today is our fault ?? So if the move to make airports more secure is in some people's viewpoint "racist", ask yourself the whole society is racist, you do racist things yourself too....
Akinaro, 09 Jul 2014Racism? It is not our fault that most of people that like killing others in explosions and fir... moreI'll not comment about the americans who kills a lot of kids in the schools because of nothing, as well I'll not comment the brazilian which was assassinated because the british police thought it was a terrorist - I live in Brazil and despite our violence rate, we don't have or do terrorism.
This would be REALLY racism.
No matter what, racism will be there forever. Neither me nor you can destroy it..
Someone, 09 Jul 2014Spoken like a real terroristBut he is right, only need a small bomb to down an airplane, so this doesnt help, and another thing is that security checks at Heathrow is already taking too long, making passengers miss their flights and what not. I was once delayed just a few minutes too much and lost my flight and had to cash out a big amount for a rush ticket on the next flight. Couldnt have happned anywhere else, for the first Heathrow is too big and takes too long to transfer between the terminals, and second the security check is always clogged with long lines. Someone there need to be sent on fieldtrips to Hoong Kong, Singapore and so on to learn how to run an airport efficiently, all of the good airports are now in Asia, Europe should take that as a hint that they need to do something constructive for a change, even China has long since surpassed Europe regarding airports.
Dovice, 09 Jul 2014What is to stop someone from creating a half size battery and putting explosives in the other half?Well at least you will get more bang for your bucks from them!
No need to mention in the article that this is UK, couldnt be anywhere else. Airport security in UK is nothing but a display, they are making stupid rules and doing big investments to pretend they are "secure" but is a joke actually.
Still, worlds worst airport security no doubt Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, i wasnt the only one laughing at the "security" check we got exposed to last time i was there. Just a few weeks before that armed robbers had made it into the airport, unobstructed in and almost unobstructed out with lots of money, some kind of security personnel (meaning random guys given nice uniforms) had fired at the robbers but was so untrained that they couldnt hit anything if they tried, but still much better trained than the gang of above middle aged housewives who performed security scans LoL.
r6680jc, 09 Jul 2014Have you seen "harold and kumar: escape from guantanamo"?sounds more like the movie (Y)

D3sokA, 09 Jul 2014Keep watching your media, man. *Sigh*But... what other races have done that in the past 10 years? I mean yeah, I feel bad for my middle eastern friends when we go to airports but even they understand how these racial guesses are made. Of course, there is a chance of a bomber in every single individual but chances are higher for people from certain areas.
This is just ridiculous.
USA already is acting like a full-blown police state with their stupid "anti-terrorist" measures and now UK is following too. Europe is going downhill completely thanks to the incompetence, idiocy and warmongering of 'Murica.
Such invasive security measures and now even going through your electronics are plain dumb and counter-productive and make you feel completely made a fool out of every time you have to fly. Idiots.
BESIDES, what kind of an explosion could you cause with a bomb the size of a tablet or phone, even a laptop?? If the pilot cabin is locked, it can't take the plane down no matter where you put it where passengers have access to. It's just too small. And if you want security, give the pilots and the plane staff handguns or submachineguns and train them to use them (yeah, I know, it's not very wise to fire a gun in a plane but that should deter most attackers just by having them there). I'd be more comfortable knowing that the plane staff is armed than having to get myself thoroughly violated at airport checkpoints.
