Oh crap..!! So if this is true then have to spend around 1k$ for sapphire version..??
If the above info is correct it is rather sad that apple has not managed to get it right.
They come out with 1 or 2 models of iPhone per year , the phones are expensive compared to the other brands and even then there is no consistency.
Also they should clarify about the 5.5 display phone so that one can decide which one to go for. 4.7 OR 5.5
iPhone6 best phone ever. News like these popup every year.. Issues .. Problems.. In the end it was all resolved when released.
This year macbook air and iphone 6 will be the limelight. Best innovation ever
that is the most retarded rumor i have ever herd, you really think a billion dollar company is just going to let this happen, are you all stupid?
Anyway, I'm much more concerned with the durability of the body than that of the screen with the iPhone.
Apple join the fashion of phone model. 4.7 and 5.5 screen size. Now they have to be a premium iphone 6 with saphire and ordinary iphone 6 of non saphire. They fallow the market of htc metallic m8 premium and m8 plastic. Samsung s5 premium and s5 ordinary. It is now the marketing style?
As expected, sapphire screen innovation will be retracted . Therefore no innovation.
not giving a sapphire display means Apple wants huge earning from one phone.....they want to earn from 1 mobile that samsung earns from 2 to 3 devices. ..

Blah blah WinXP rules.. Win8 suck balls.. MY START BUTTON! WP8 no appzzz BS..
Now you wanna use Microsoft Windows to cover your Asss in the desktop??
News for you. Windows can run on Mac also! iMac the best desktop all in one. Macbook air/pro the best consumer notebooks known to man.
Not that you will want to bootcamp to windows. Just run parallels or vmware for windows.
In the "Limited" world of Apple, i can enjoy all platforms.. Windows/OSX/Android/iOS. Nothing is impossible, and no limits.

Apple is a restricted ecosystem, limited to specific applications/hardware, and only able to be fully taken advantaged of with its own products. Interchangeability is locked down and a joke.
Windows and Android are much better choices. Period.
iOS8 with iPhone6. Ultimate combo.
Indestructible both from the insides as well as the outside.
Coupled with OSX Yosemite with a Macbook Pro.. Run any programs, anywhere, anytime!
Apple attacks on both fronts. Desktop OS / Mobile OS. The rest will be left in the dust.
In fact, all you need is iPhone 4S and a BT 4.0 enabled Mac. Your set for 2015. Sapphire or not, merging of Desktop and Mobile is coming.. no one can stop this trend.
Anonymous, 18 Jul 2014Hahaha iphones are premium? Your 5c is a plastic. Use your head before you post a commentYou might want to check on the last line before you bash someone you're exposing your ignorance by not reading the entire comment :)) =))
If apple is not giving saphire glass and not good battery then i shall leave it and seriously waiting for 13th of august. Lets see what they do.....
Cost of approx. 45$ + the normal faPple tax means you pay +15o$ for it...
Apple's sapphire screen situation is quickly going down the drain. The company is on par to have a disastrous iPhone 6 release. Many iFans are going to be in the market for the highly publicized sapphire display version. Once consumers find out that it may only be available on specific models, there's going to be an obvious "lose|lose" outcome.
Consumers are going to hold out for the sapphire display model, leaving the non-sapphire offerings on the shelf. Sales will suffer.
