Gr8 product, even better mktg, overhyped ui, pathetic supply. Dont take us for fools. Co showing attitude even before the first handset is delivered. Flipkart off late has became complacent and lousy.
JP Kelly, 24 Jul 2014Xiaomi for sure will overtake Sammy to be No.1 Flagship smartphone maker. yeah right. Good luck on that. LG is the nexy king of android. Sony and HTC will fall.
that 40min duration is bcoz the traffic was so high on flipkart that it couldnt handle. the site ran slow during the whole time the sale was going on. i too tried but couldnt get the device, i will have to try again after 5 days

This is the first "negative" report which I have read about Xiaomi and like the article said it will be a major disappointment to those who WILL miss out
10,000 units were 10 times over subscribed
What I do know is that India has population of over ONE BILLION 1,000,000,000
10,000 phones is supplying just ONE PHONE PER MILLION PEOPLE
In addition to that this is Chinese company supplying the only country to have more people than India, so the top 2.
Events in China are already oversubscribed.
The way the much lower figure has been revealed is really bad PR for Xiaomi as you have better odds on roulette
it's a marketing strategy..nothing more nothing less..to keep up the hype, to make you people buy it on the pretension that everyone else wants it. I'd rather buy one becoz it's got quality hardware and support..which a Chinese company usually doesnt have..
In the Philippines. After 2 flash sales. The Mi3 is now sold openly due to poor demand in the country.
JP Kelly, 24 Jul 2014Xiaomi for sure will overtake Sammy to be No.1 Flagship smartphone maker. You joke, but the amount of users using MIUI vs Touchwiz is getting dangerously close. All Xiaomi has to do know is focus on hardware.
I told you guys were getting overly excited and that the first couple months it would be extremely difficult to get one. This is Xiaomi afterall.
Don't expect widespread availability until October, maybe even November.
40 minutes?? in Malaysia .. you have to literally have the fastest internet speed in Malaysia to get a xiao mi 3.. it have been sold out with in 5 minutes Max per restock.. they only restock like 10,000 unit a week or 2 but is still a lot of phone they sold here
Xiaomi for sure will overtake Sammy to be No.1 Flagship smartphone maker.
Well, apparently from what I have read, the Korean manufacturers build up inventory, THEN sell, but a lot of the Chinese manufacturers sell in batches. Whatever the production lot is, that is what they sell, when it is gone, then they build another batch. Sounds odd coming from the west, but I guess it's a culture thing, or just stingy?
Ramdev, 23 Jul 2014Xiaomi would have sold those 10k units in less than 5 minutes if flipkart was able to handle t... moreSame case with me I was trying with 2 accounts and my brother was on 1 account and we were constantly trying but everytime got error but finally on 12.34 I was able to book one on cod ...at last we won the battle.
MaxSmarties, 23 Jul 2014So the news is that a Chinese manufacturer sold 10k phones .... Very interestingYeah, what's actually interesting to me is a half American half Asian manufacturer sells millions.
in Malaysia Mi3 sold out in less than a minute even with 10000 unit.
40 minutes seems like an eternity
So the news is that a Chinese manufacturer sold 10k phones .... Very interesting
Xiaomi would have sold those 10k units in less than 5 minutes if flipkart was able to handle those sudden traffic spike. It took me 30 min to book the device. flipkart was like too much traffic please try again later. I was almost fed up with flipkart (was trying with 3 different browsers and from 2 diff accounts). Finally to my luck after 38 minutes i was able to place an order via cash on delivery. I wonder what the dev team in flipkart is doing. (Cant even handle a sudden spike in traffic)
