The battery got swollen 9 months after purchasing the phone and the phone was heating a lot that I had to put it in the deep freezer of a refrigerator for 30 seconds to cool it down..
how come only samsung phones incinerate? no other oems have complains about it. i guess they make the most money so their phones must be explosive devices. right.
It is good idea to offer a replacement for the phone, the bedding, the mattress, and the pillow. If the girl would have died, they offer human replacement too.. is a human life that much cheaper?

Me too experienced almost like that, it happened when I'm about to sleep, that time I'm downloading a game cache and because of the big file to download and it will took time to finished I decided to plug-in the charger, put under my pillow, and sleep. Then in the morning when I awake, I grab my S4 under my pillow and i dropped it on my bed coz its too hot, the plastic protector almost melting, just like holding the surface of flat-iron. I'm using the original battery.

You know, Apple premium quality, the perfect phone size, it just works, etc, etc, etc.
I don't like samsung and will never buy any samsung smartphone. But it takes real guts and balls for replacing a pillow and a bed for some1 elses stupidity and still be this generous. #respect!

Original Samsung batteries are quite overpriced, she probably "saved" more than $15, thats many beers already (or whatever girls buy)
Another advantage of removable batteries ahaha.
Interesting however that this phone already needed battery replacement, confirms what i suspected, Samsung is squeezing too much capacity out of their batteries, too high voltage, so they dont even last a year.
And Samsungs must never be kept under pillows, the physical home button will become very weird if it overheats, permanent damage. Pillows are excellent in retaining heat, the heat builds up slowly but surely with no way to escape, only need to for example activate 3G data and have a background download running and you will wake up to a hard and noisy home button.
if one could afford this phone, why buy a mediocre battery from unknown manufacturer? it is clearly stated in samsung warranty or any other manufacturers warranty that using accessories not manufactured by the company is not guaranteed.
dude you are a big noob or a troll... you have no idea how cheap iphone actually is... samsung phones are actually more expensive while manufacturing...

If you put it under the pillow while charging then yeah it can heat up pretty quickly just like any other battery (especially if it's not the original battery). I used to hear iphones burning some while ago too, so it's not only happening to Samsung, but this is definetly bad publicity, good thing the girl is fine.
