Burnt Galaxy S4 owner gets offered a new One M8 by HTC - read the full textAbout a month back, a reddit user 'TweektheGeek' was woken up by the smell of his Galaxy S4 (not related to this recent incident), which overheated and started melting while the phone was charging overnight. Supposedly, you can paint the ribbon with some black paint so it doesn't rub on the metal frame. That's some good engineering right there.

I currently have a ZTE, Samsung, HTC, and LG Android phones. My HTC Desire I yelled pull and blasted it with a 20 guage shotgun, which was very enjoyable after all the trouble I had with it. My EVO 3D is about to go the same way: Used it for about 4 months, charged the battery and put it in the drawer. Pulled it out after about 6 months and is completely dead, won't charge. New battery and still just flashes an orange light. When the phone was brand new, it took forever for it to charge the first time. But now it can sit there all day and flash orange without ever turning green.

hi, I'm an s5 user but no fanboy.

I dont know about your country, but in my country (Indonesia), Samsung service center is considered one of the best (alongside apple and LG),Sony's sucks (2 months repair time), HTC unknown (very rare btw). My brother uses S4 and he has a problem with his USB cable, replaced free of charge (still in warranty)!!

So, I think in this case its just bad luck in the mix.Not all samsung product is bad and all samsung CS is A-holes.

This is not an uncommen thing from Samsung side to keep quiet. I have porblems on my phone where my Samsung Galaxy s4 mini does not want to pick-up any 3G network. I emailed them twice with no responce back. They might be one of the leading brands. But I am not happy. If i wanted to work on EDGE I could have kept my Blackberry.

Also my network provider is not much help either.

Nothing more than HTC seeing an opportunity to try and look better than Samsung.
I bet even Samsung officials are pretty upset now over whichever care center kept ignoring the guy.

> In reply to Sam7606 @ 2014-07-29 14:06 from NrZd - click to readSamsung phones always gets 1 or 2 defects after the warranty period. Some time i wonder whether they distribute 2 defective part to each phone so that the phone becomes partially unusable after 12 months. my Samsung wave S8500 had bad earpiece and charging port. my galaxy Apollo (i5801) had bad battery and horizontal lines (dead pixels) on the screen. Samsung TVs come with low quality capacitors. Check YouTube for complaints

Nothing beats HTC, Nobody beats HTC, I've had an array of phones, until my first HTC, regardless to mention that my last 6 contract phones has all being HTC's, I've owned 9 HTC phones in total and will not change my brand for anything else, NOT Samsung, Nokia, LG or any other wannbe can build phones like HTC - The Superior Choice. Too bad I can not afford the new HTC One (M8), I am sure it'll kick ass like all the other HTC's.

Hello, I am very worried now, every new Samsung devices has the tendency to explode/Burn/Injures peoples, I have two Samsung devices Note 2 & S4 i9505, a huge Samsung Fan (well used to be) now I started getting feeling like there're two dynamites in my home, charge my devices with fear of these incidents, plus I am also forced to shutdown both devices while I go to sleep, our lives are not so cheap like Samsung thinks, one explosion in your pocket, or burnt down phone during charge or in a idle mode can really make things fatal, I am now thinking about moving to HTC, we all get our lives just once, please stay safe, if you want to keep using Sammy devices, create a electric connection in place where there's nothing close to the phone so you may avoid any mishaps, turn off the phone when you're sleeping.
