"... while the Player API provides a simple way to embed video presentations of the service into any website using basic JavaScript." Maybe I am not reading this right, but I don't see any talking about video presentations - This API allows developers to access the core features of the Map (exploring the map, changing the settings, reacting to events in the map, showing/hiding some GUI etc...) and mash up their own content.

dude this is like months old news, been running maps 3 (now known as Maps OVI) for like a month

the Sync with OVI account is fun but the maps app itself is now more complicated (for no reason) than Maps 2

instead of just being able to search for POI's directly from the map you now have to go though like 5 menus.. and search for a city first?

the rest is the same great interface.

But you can now have rotating map.

I thought Nokia was breaking away from Ovi?

It's weird - one minute they're trying to run away from Ovi and the next they're showering it with updates!

Compared both - Google Maps and Nokia Maps!
The winner is Nokia Maps by a huge margin. Nokia has most precise maps I'v ever seen on the net. Wow! Nokia Maps even has all pedestrian paths in green zone which shouldn't be there. This info is even in such a small towns with population ~2500.
Nokia win this race :)

Why O Why cant you do the same with google maps, I have a work sim so cannot use google maps because it is data hungry, I just wish I could download the required maps for selected town, city, or country, I have plenty or GB spare on my phone.
