Sajjad Tufail M, 08 Aug 2014In may got 4.3 notification, no notification for kitkat on my xperia zUpdate via manual way (don't use PC Companion)....
Nishanthvic, 08 Aug 2014when sony can provide kitkat for 512MB Ram Xperia E1, why cannot bloody Samsung give it to galaxy S3Thats because GS3 is already 18 months old when Samsung said they had problems when compiling kitkat update (storage issue, not the RAM).
y do they have to upgrade Xperia E1 to 4.4 yet the same 4.4 released on Xperia Z has not yet been received in kenya. It doesn't make any sense at all.... Update Xperia Z first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pls guys give kitkat update for Xperia M....
if Xperia E1 can handle it then y can't Xperia M....
@XXX13, does that iPhone run Android? Like I said, any Android device has a 18 months software upgrade window.
The iPhone 4s have received the latest iOS update iOS 7, that phone is over three years old.
@Nishanthvic, like I said in the comment bellow yours, any device older than 18 months will not receive any further updates, only if Samsung (or any other brand) decides to do so (and many times they do not).
vaibhav1608, 08 Aug 2014Seriously Sony.. Xperia E1 to get kitkat... and Xperia C is still on 4.2.2... Sad... :(Sony can't give kitkat for C because it's running an older mediatek processor which didn't release those codes or those stuff to support manufacturers to update their phones... Eg. Check any 2013 phone with mediatek processor
when sony can provide kitkat for 512MB Ram Xperia E1, why cannot bloody Samsung give it to galaxy S3
What people don't understand is that Android has a limited window when it comes to updates, most manufactures provide updates only for about 18 months, any device older than that, no matter how powerful it is hardware-wise, is out of the question.
Sony, like any other brand with tens of devices, can't keep up with software updates for devices as old as Xperia S, T, V or any other device older than 18 months. E1 was launched a few months back, it may even receive an upgrade to the next version of Android, even though it has a somewhat weak hardware.
Now it would be nice to see comments about how the phone in the title actually works with this update.
vaibhav1608, 08 Aug 2014Seriously Sony.. Xperia E1 to get kitkat... and Xperia C is still on 4.2.2... Sad... :(I Must say a former flagship like Xperia T hasn't got KitKat yet, It's also better than Xperia C and E1. Sony makes me angry.
What!Xperia SP stock with buggy 4.3 with no App2sd but Xperia E1 gets 4.4 with app2sd ! i never buy Sony anymore if they don't release 4.4 with app2sd for SP
