loco-loco, 19 Aug 2014It's below the display. Alongside with a front camera.Correction. After what I read from Gizmodo site: "The display is undoubtedly the coolest part of this phone. I mean, just look at that thing. As for that missing microphone that's usually chilling up top, a Sharp representative told me they use a direct wave receiver, which actually vibrates the screen next to your ear to transmit sound. No, you don't have to turn the phone upside down to make a call."
Anonymous, 19 Aug 2014sapphire display??? and what about IP certification? It doesn't have.
this device bezels avoids us to use bumper case, cause it will covers the screen at sides....
babakmansouri, 19 Aug 2014if i find it on aliexpress i will buy ithi amirexpress said that'll be ready to buy 2 weeks after word release but the phone which made for Asia
where the hell is the earpiece??? dont tell me we have to hold the phone upside down to talk :/
Sharp and other Japanese phone makers need to bring their devices to the international market. This is so much better than Samsung or any other brand now.
For me it looks elegantly weird. It feels like you're touching/handling the "raw" screen of the phone. Personally I'd prefer a thin bezel phone than this.
OMG. i dont want this phone. weird placement of earpiece. it soo bothersome.
Ummm..Where's the head receiver? Is it that small line on the bottom with the camera? So you need to turn the phone bottom up to talk? If yes, well 1st, it's kinda awkward and 2nd, why is it on the side instead of being in the center? That's going to be quite uncomfy while trying to hold the phone next to your ear...Am I missing something here?
Roger, 18 Aug 2014Where is the earphone speaker/grill on the top?? :0It's below the display. Alongside with a front camera.
kaost, 19 Aug 2014Design like this will cause durability issue. This is not ergonomic at all either. Your finger... moreYou need a space for the front-camera unless you don't want to take selfie or making video-call anymore. I think putting the front-camera below its display is a right choice. You will eventually cover the screen with your fingers when you try to access your smartphone, no matter how much bezel or not the smartphone is. So, what's bother?
You don't know whether it's comfortable or not until you try it.
Before LG, actually SHARP had released some bezel-less smartphones.
This is first step into the future, next up will be flexible screen (and I mean bendable) on top while you hold the rectangular base with the battery inside.
Sharp phones are always very good and much much better than samsung. But you can only buy Sharp phones via parallel import with no warranty.
mortuus, 18 Aug 2014this is how sonys phones should look and not half the phones place is deadspace... ugh,.i like how sony does with their bezels, it gives better ergonomics especially on playing games on landscape. try your LG g3 playing games in landcape mode with controllers set at the bottom of the screen. Its horrible.
