Nokia, watch and learn, watch and learn!!
This his how a phone should be built, high quality materials and high quality displays, not like the shitty nokia hardware made of cheap plastic (N96, N95 v.1) and outdated cpus (N97). The N97 CPU was outdated last year. The Iphone 1g has a faster cpu than the N97. Watch and learn nokia!!
P.S. The OSX mobile sux. It can't even send pictures or songs via bluetooth. It is also not able to receive anything from other phones (including Iphones) via bluetooth.

Here is what I know about iphone 3G where I live...

- I paid for an iphone with contract but cost me around US$400, with $40 monthly fees with 500mb of data. (Most "basic" 3G plan runs as low as US$9 a month)

- I never use the iphone, bcoz I bought the phone for my wife.

- Overall my wife is quite happy with the phone.

- My manager, being a trendy lady who used to change phones every 3 months, have been using her iphone

- 2 senior managers in my company bought iphone 3G unlocked at near US$700 "last month".

- Personally I know several more iphone users, who are quite happy.

- Most "kids" where I live don't have iphones...instead, average age of the users (from my observation) is between 19~40.

The good thing is Apple has made its customers quite happy with its product. In my view, the iphone is more than just a phone, which is more an internet device than most other things.

Die-hard techno savvy people may not find the specs filing their appetite, though I don't thing that's the purpose or targeted customers for iphone anyway.

In addition, iphone has created a icon for itself. When one digs out an iphone, most other users can easily recognize it being an iphone. When someone digs out the latest N-series/58xx from the almighty brand, others would simply see them as another brick...which many ladies do not appreciate. (Apple well knew many ladies like white color, hence made white only available on the 16GB version)

Iphone sets itself apart from other so called "smartphones", as in some cases like Windows Mobile, I found them not being exactly "smart". Why do I have to install a software to read other languages? Why need to install software so I can use MP3 as alarm? When some complain about lack of MMS and this and that on iphone, can I say the same about Windows Mobile phones as simply task like switching the language or using MP3 as alarm can being found on most sub US$70 phones?

On the other hand, if the so called "upgrades" are just the cam and more internal memory, the iphone users I personally know...will not likely be "upgrading" to the new one, as the so called "upgrades" may not be important to them.

I, being someone who paid for the iphone, really wish it can add the secondary cam, so I can video call my wife as soon as I get off work.

For my wife, she would appreciate a radio so she can listen to her favorite talk show...yes, it's available on the internet. Again, why pay for data charges and the battery probably can't last as long?

Hope certain American won't jump out and say "we Americans don't need this and that...", becoz like it or not, a good % of your iphones are being sold overseas, so customers from overseas should have their rights to voice out their opinions.

One last thing I can't understand is, when others are "attacking" users of another brand, especially Apple, why harsh words like "retarded" are being used? For those who hate iphones, have you even touched any iphone? If so, you can share and elaborate as to exactly why u don't like its O/S or whatever, but I see little reason to label users of iphones being r...or whatever.

Everybody has difference needs on phones, and everyone's opinions should be respected.

> In reply to [deleted post]You would rather have a e71... Ha ha he he ho ho. IT HAS A 2.36 INCH NON TOUCH SCREEN. Plus 2.5mm lack, slow processor, old os and still only a 3.1 mp camara... Which most to$$ers here thing is more important than an awesome screen, web browsing, apps store and interface. Ps i am currently on a n82 and will be getting a n97 or new iphone because of the points i mentioned.

> In reply to [deleted post]My brother has an E71 and I don't see what's so great about it. It looks nice and all, but so does the iphone. And the iphone is touch screen, which is way better for GPS and internet. The E71 has a very complex menu system that you need to learn, the iphone is very simple to use. The E71 has a 3.2 cam which isn't that great, but that quality is probably good enough for you. If you really had an iphone, you'd know the difference in quality.

You're all just jealous. iPhone rules. Apple rules. It is by far the most fun to use, the easiest to use, and the little, unimportant things its missing will be resolved momentarily. I've had them all, blackberries, palm, standard handsets, winmo devices. They are all so lame.
