Time to get off the Nokia cloud and face reality, they are mediocre at best and nothing special.

Samsung is leading the way.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-25 13:40 from 2WYeYou are completely right, my canon 300D Dslr will take better pictures than any phone on the market and its only 6 megapixel.

what make me sad is that even gsmarena are saying things like the N97 is only 5MP which is so old and stuff like that.

For me anything over 5MP is just marketing tricks to play on people minds.

12 MP snaper on a phone?? do people really fall for that on a phone? Anyone with decent photography knowledge would know what I'm talking about. Not to mention the high price tag which makes it all the more ridiculous.

I guess whatever the comment is about. I think it all boils down to the phone performance and quality.Too expensive, mediocre competitor of iPhone or 12 mp cam capability... well, all of these won't matter... phone performance and phone quality are all equal to excellent investment.

I've been reading all your complaints about this price... NOTE to all this is Samsungs direct competitor to IPHONE!!! it has the same chip and screen. Did you know that Samsung supplies components to Apple!! Hence they are selling this at a high price. but cheaper than the IPHONE.

After doing a little research on the web it appears this phone is almost a direct competitor to the IPhone. It has the same processor same screen only difference is higher mpx and OS. To me this is basically the same branded under a different name. My curiousity here is we'll see how symbian s60 runs on this in comparision to Apple OS. If its just as flawless. BTW I am considering this to the N97 as Samsung has made a great job of customizing the S60 than Nokia has.

Firstly, I'm not a Samsung apologist but a Symbian freak, predictably people are missing the bigger picture. The Pixon 12 will be the first available 12mp phone thus aspiring buyers will have to pay a PREMIUM to lay their hands on it. The price will only come down as soon as the Satios or the LG offerings are available on the market as well.

This is basic economics and marketing, for crying out loud!!!!!

Samsung should study their pricing strategy for this smart phone. The features are almost the same from other brands with price tag of lower 550 EU. I don't understand why Samsung is putting so much premium price when there is no SUPER feature that will WOW mobiles users.

> In reply to Heuteland @ 2009-06-25 11:07 from MY4$I think people here don't know the facts and just try to say baseless things. Currently the best cameraphone is Samsung INNOV8. you can see the reviews of gsmarena. Recently they also compared it with Nokia 8MP and samsung is better. Don't just speculate things in your blind love :D

Will the picture quality & brightness is bad light conditions be improved?
All high res camera's have issues with this and only Nokia and SonyEricsson
seem to address this properly.

Samsung & LG usually just do the megapixel race but do nothing about the true picture experience & quality.... Just spec's no quality....

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-25 10:16 from ijDgIt is not more than 5 £ to produce any of these phones these days. That is if you look at the material and labouer costs. But of course there are other costs as marketing, resurch and such. Anyway, the profits are HUGE.

I know since I was working in one of the factories where Nokia phones are made.

The price is there for the uninformed people, that will think that this phone has everything, including a 12MP camera, without knowing the reality. This phone should easily not cost more than 300 euros to produce. This is one of Sammy's worst phones this year hardware wise, when not only camera is taken into consideration.

Oh really? and why is that? because you love carrying two devices in your pocket all day so very very much?

It's called technological convergence 'dilmmeet' if a company makes a phone which rivals a camera good for them and good for us! who really cares 'what you expect' from a phone???
