Nokia released this junk of a phone N97 because Apple released it's latest update which sorted out most of the issues in the I Phone. I think Nokia has only hurt it's brand name and image by doing so and releasing a phone with so many bugs. I had pre-ordered and bought the N97 and feel it was the stupidest decision of my life.
Nokia - you lost a fatihful customer of almost 15 years today.
I will never ever recommend a Nokia phone to any of my friends - EVER..........

> In reply to D-D @ 2009-07-07 23:08 from 3p1$Have u looked into the option of the "Vodafone Gateway Access" It'll give u full 3G connection in your house as long as u already have broadband installed. £160.00 I get mijne today, hopefully it will give me Vodafone connection in my house.

Iv lost faith in Nokia, Iv been a Nokia fan since 1998. I love my N95 8GB and will not upgrade it for any of the crap that out there now. The N97 is a pile of dog poo, so is the N86 as with the 6303 and the 6700. N
Nokia, what happened - Just give up!!!

Why on Gods Green earth would Nokia release a phone which clearly wasn't finished. I work for a Mobile phone company and are supposed to tell customers this is the greatest phone Nokia has made but
"You'll have to do a software update before you use it, if you want to get the best out of the handset"
Why could Nokia have released this handset WITHOUT the bloody issues, How can you bring out a handset that has SO MANY issues

Ok thanks Sam, looks like the new software might not ave hit the UK yet as ive used the Nokia update software and its not worked. I have read somewhere else that someone else from the UK is also having problems updating. I have to say if Nokia could resolve these issues, then the N97 will be an awsome phone. It looks like i might end up taking the phome back tomorrow cos i also have a network coverage problem with Vodafone where i live.

i have waited so long for this phone until when i got to Optus, the seller warned me not to buy it. He said that its very laggy, and freezes, and of cos many other HIS personal point of view on the phone (which i don care) its either iphone 3Gs or N97. i want N97 so badly but only to see so many telling me its bad. my friend got it for only a week and is on her way to selling it because it freezes so much.
i used to love nokia so much until sony got me, and now i am stuck again.
i really should go into optus and asked if they do a replacement with a DIFFERENT phone if N97 plays up on me.... hummm...

I just got my N97 on the weekend, I did the software update straight away, took me 4 days to work out how to answer the thing and I couldnt see that covered in the manual, I just hope that they do more updates for it as I think it needs it, cant seem to get the quick office to work it just keeps freezing. not that I would use that app much but why have it on there if you can use it?
Overall I am pretty happy with it!!

Why would HTC and Android be listed as tags for this post?? Anyways N97 is a rip off, you get slightly better hardware (and it is slightly, the 4**MHz processor is a joke, the upcoming E72 has a 6**MHz processor and that doesn't even have to deal with the complex touch UI, and the battery is the same as the E71?? Shouldn't a top of the line Nserise with such a premium price innovate instead of just bringing re-heated leftovers, i mean the camera module is 2years old!!)for almost twice the initial price of the 5800 and no innovation. I love the Nserise, i have an N95 8gb and i remember when i first bought it 3years back, back then Nserise meant something now all that comes to mind is Oh how the mighty are fallen...

I'm sorry but this phone was pure garbage. Waste of my money and time. And already almost half the price on craigslist.

Unfortunately Nokia become a looser company because of: they are not creative enough, MOST of the NOKIA handset always comes with defective software or hardware since 2006 up till date and regards to all Nokia research lots of peoples says that Not right!!!!! Nokia make test for one mobile phone of every 1000, so do u think the factory staff are free to test every phone, that’s why NOKIA quality is terrible,
Samsung and LG is way better folks try them and you be impressed by the results
