Even if Lenovo bids, It's unlikely that BlackBerry will sell.
CEO John Chen has repeatedly said that BlackBerry will be profit making by Fiscal Year 2016 and that it can 'comeback' on its own.
Also, If lenovo bids and BlackBerry accepts, there still Canadian Government. BB is canada's representative in the mobile arena and looking at the amount of enterprise clients BB has (Including US,Canada and German Gov.) It's unlikely that it will go in China's hand.
AnonD-200220, 21 Oct 2014Yeah thats it baby hang security over to china i trust them more than those american agencies ... moreBlack berry is Canadian. And the most trusted phone for security by far
Whenever there are such news, something else is going to happen or another company is in game. I will be very surprised if Lenovo acquires BB, although I don't see anything wrong in a possibile strong partnership with Lenovo. We'll see.
Lenovo & China might soon be on the US's doorstep. Good to keep Obama & Co. in check.
This won't happen.
It was blocked before.
Ohh
Tell Me I Would Take These Both On The Mouth Saying Money//My Name
Plz BB.. Don't do this.. I don't want to see that.. A Chinese company takeover the most trusted brand for the security and interest service (BIS)
Oh Lenovo, keep your cheapness to yourself, leave BB alone! I'd rather have BB acquired by any other company but you. Don't hate on me, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad, it's just their Mobile Phone division I don't like.
Yeah thats it baby hang security over to china i trust them more than those american agencies who always spies like a sick stalker
What people are forgetting is that the Canadian government blocked this deal last year on security grounds: what's changed since then?
John Chen
He's our man
If he can't do it
Someone... Can

This article just mentions Lenovo might make a bid and that they are willing but we are not certain if Lenovo will be the only company to bid. Who knows. Whether or not BB purchase will be beneficial to Lenovo, their acquirement is not necessary for them to thrive if their aim is to compete with Xiaomi's internet-based biz model. They could instead focus on searching a company or the like dedicated to creating a credible and fluid internet-based business. Popular mobile companies could have done that before Xiaomi introduced such model impressively, they probably just didn't have thought of it.
I'd rather have companies experienced with software and OS development like Microsoft, Apple, or Google purchase BB for OS integration and interaction. But whatever goes, nothing yet is final as of now. As long as BB falls to a popular brand or to the right hands, I'll be fine
Quite a smart move in my opinion. They will be able to leverage a lot of resources while quickly getting access to new markets.
What Microsoft did and is doing with Nokia isn't all that bad, I mean there's absolutely no way to predict that Lenovo will mess up Blackberry, since in the end every company wants to make profit.
Lenovo should but BB and start porting Android and change the game, there are still millions of used who like the signature physical Keypad that BB has mastered and no one else can make such
[deleted post]Hahaha. Poor you they only lost 2 billion out from their 100+ Billion. What ever u say sony will stick for a long time. Try to watch out for HTC
Considering the enterprise marketshare of BB.
Microsoft should acquire BB.
BB with Windows will be more productive.
