I bought this phone primarily for practicality . . .

Well, it's a bad phone. Cheap but bad performance. It turns off automatically! A disaster when you're expecting calls and messages.

Calendar notes are very very limited. It's allows you to input a maximum of 5 notes only.

Just got gone, and find that it can't read many of my MP3 file even though they are above 32 kbps, as required by the phone. The 32 kbps limitation is strange, as all phones I'v used played MP3s of any bitrate.

Anybody knows what the issue might be?

To prospective buyers, I'd suggest to avoid this phone. For voice calls, the 'voice leakage' issue is very real due to single speaker design. Everyone around will be able to hear the other person. Also, voice sounds distant as the speaker is not placed near the speaker grille.

As an MP3 player also it fails miserably as player is as bare basic as it gets. No fast fwd or rewind, no file management functions at all, no equalizer, bitrate limitations (some files wont play even if the meet the requirement, as mentioned above).

Thank you Nokia, for a fabulous phone. Even no-name Chinese phones don't have such limitations, at lower price points.

> In reply to Frank @ 2013-04-09 05:37 from Ia19 - click to readI have this phone and it does open. U just need to slide the back cover downwards. Hope this helps. My concern with this phone is that call clarity is not good, sometimes it automatically goes into loudspeaker when u pick a call, the screen has a weak point and cracks. i have witnessed this with several of these phones. Whats strange is that all cracks begin from around the same point (bottom left).

> In reply to Mom @ 2013-04-14 19:00 from 9Cj9 - click to readVoice leakage problem is enormous, you can't hear the voice even in a room where a fan is circulating. The sound of fan's air circulation is much louder than NOKIA 101/100. The original speaker thrust only 10% of total volume & rear speaker thrust the rest. Only solution is you should use it reverse way during a voice call.

> In reply to aryan @ 2013-04-13 10:22 from t5}% - click to readDear friend, this nokia 101 is not costly but has many functions such as speaking clock, screening list (to stop unwanted incoming call or sms), battery & signal strengh is good, it has flashlight & light weight , schedule sms and supports multi- lingual by texting/receiving text message. .but this dual sim handset has voice leakage problem ! i'd like to suggest you to go for Nokia 110 or 112 or 206 instead.:)
The latest Nokia low end phones are good because they have xpress browser
that we can surf fast internet. And they are durable too. But I would like to suggest to Nokia : please alway add more features such as talking clock, torch to the new models . One more point : it will be great if Nokia releases the new dual sim low tech phone with different screen size (larger screen size 3.5" to 4") because every buyers has their own preference. Finally I just want to say thank you to Nokia for your solid build mobile phone.
