> In reply to 1100 forever @ 2009-10-11 20:59 from 3aFxAbsolutely well said, I'm getting fed up of this constant change to the point where phones are becoming computers and have lost thier identity and soul. I was all for it a ear ago until Android/Maemo and the announcement of Moblin/WinMo 7 aught on and just confused me. Bring classics like this back, afterall, the majority of people use these devices for calling and texting, sometimes the radio and casually the camera, but 90% of people only use it for calling and texting!

This phone is amazing for texting. Been using this for nearly 5 years and i haven't seen another phone that can match it in the SMS speed typing department. Nokia should seriously consider bringing this phone back they may sell another 200 million of it. Also none of the 1100 successors have been able to do what 1100 did.

> In reply to Michel @ 2009-10-15 18:52 from spHRNo, this came out in 2003 and wasn't Nokia's first phone. Nokia's been around a very long time, over 100 years before they made electronics

There is absolutely NO POINT in a color screen on a non-camera phone - it just makes it harder to use the phone. The 1100's mono screen is far superior as I can easily see the time / battery level, and if I've had any missed calls instantly without having to press keys as with color screened phones. Really, we've gone backwards cos the kids want ever more gimmicky features and Nokia has given in. Modern phones with color screens are like going back to a 1970s LED watch, having to push buttons to get the display to light up every time you want to see the damn thing! I'm gonna run this phone till one of us dies.

Excellent navigation keys on these - so simple and so much better than the four way scroll nonsense on all new Nokias like the later 1200 which was of course a downgrade from this phone in all respects. Nokia: BRING THE 1100 BACK!

Near perfect mobile. Why won't Nokia do a simple mono screen version same spec as this, maybe a touch thinner and a few grammes lighter... I'm sick of color screens and other utter crap that makes modern day phones such hard work.
