I've bought this handy 2 weeks ago and I really like it. It's really efficient, just what you need to call, just Perfect
RE: Call summary: Yes, it displays a counter while calling and a total time summary after you hang up. Not enabled by default, just turn it on in the options.
I wanted to know that does this cell phone displayes the time ealpesed during the call.
I mean the call duration during the call
This is lovely little work/backup phone. No BS and great performance.
I picked up a near new one for my business needs on eBay for just AUD $30 with a case but I notice they retail for only around AUD $60-$70 now anyway.
Whilst itís true that the phone is lacking some significant contemporary features, you have to understand that this phone was never intended to be a fashion accessory or necessarily replace your own personal full featured phone. I'm not sure how some people come to expect so much from such a low priced phone
The battery life is simply amazing, even better than my Sagem which was pretty outstanding in itself. I've left it on 24/7 for over two weeks now (16 days to be exact) after its first charge and it's only just starting to flash its low battery warning at me. Admittedly it hasnít seen very heavy use, only about one phone call a day on average, but 16 days is pretty bloody good regardless.
The interface is fast and responsive but can feel a little cramped on what is quite small screen.
The reception is good, as far as I can tell, and easily on par with my sagem, which has proved itself better than all of my friendsí phones.
Since thereís bugger all connectivity out of the box, you'll have to make do with the provided wallpapers and tones, but thereís enough already on the phone to suit most people.
I have encountered no problems whatsoever. No bugs and no weird behaviour. I keep it in a simple protective case which prevents most accidental key tapping.
Reasonably elegant design. Well itís not an ugly phone anyway. Itís not particularly light, similar to most phones of the same type Iíve handled. Itís well proportioned. Reasonably thin, similar length and width to most other open phones. Pretty sturdy overall. I donít have to worry too much about dropping it.
In summary, if you're after a no BS work, backup or personal phone that simply needs to make calls and send messages than this is probably ideal for you. Stellar battery life, simple and responsive interface, good reception and a price tag that means it'll only cost you a little pocket change. Canít go wrong really.
its me again! twice while i was using it it just reset its self and i dont know y it did it can some one please email me ! thx
A phone with features that are essential, nice price also.
Only missing the Calender.Be careful if turned off an putting into a bag or pocket, it can turn on easily.

i have just got this fone and so far it is pretty good it is much better than my last one (sony ericsson t105) and it is nice and simple :)
Verry nice new phone from nokia, really functional, the menus are intuitive, and it looks nice in black. The display is preety poor , but apart from that it's a good cheap phone ! By the way , the nokia 6030 mini-USB cable is also compatible with this phone !
I like the phone nokia 1600 very very much.I admier it also. But the only defect of this set is that we cannot download anything from computer. There is a place given for DATA CABLE but it is unavailable in market as well as on web. So i need one.It has also nat a GPRS.Thank You APURVA
i liked all that is in the phone but the only thing is it is not possible to download any wallpaper it will be good if the nokia company soon release a datacable for downloading or give any other option as soon as possible
i had one.very basic useful and creative i love the speaking clock and also its distinctive way of changing the colour aspect of the wallpaper and screensaver themes helps me to match my outfit to the screen on my phone love the user friendly 1600.
I bought this phone a few days ago. If you just need very basic upgrade from an older mono screen, monophonic ring tone phone then it is a good buy.
You can't download ringtones or anything to it but if you need something that sends and recieves sms's and calls then I would highly recommend it.
This phone is garbage.. :-| no mms..no download.. no gprs no infrared no cable connection posibility .. >> 2005?!?!? daaamn... :-& You've got to be stupid to buy his unit..
I have had one now for 6 months. Its as bsic as they come I have been unable to download anything with it. It is also very easy to switch it on by accident which is not good if you take it on a plane.
I am trading in shame I do like the size and style but .... say no more
Very basic phone. I really like it but bought a data cable and can't get ringtones, wallpapers nothing for it. I did go and buy it knowing that but got conned into buying the cable. Will take it back and get my $$$ back...the cable not the phone!
For those of you asking data cable for this phone. Check out this link. I Don't know if it works, but they say it is for model 1600 too.
Looks great...works good, prize great...aplications...worse than the new phone generation. U can just buy one and be fashionable for 3 months or buy one and use it for 3 years. Your choice!
