i want to buy the set and i know that the phone is good cuz my friend is using it
If you want a very basic phone, this is the one to go for. It's reliable but, for the people asking about MP3's-of course it doesn't have that. It was designed to be simple for all the OAP's, go and get yourself a 6230i.
PS To lovebug 'How you doin?'
To the guy that paid $150 for it: Good deal? It's a frigging rip off.
This is a nice dependable phone.
a) Do not charge the phone without discharging the entire battery first to maintain the battery life.
b) Although the phone does not have GPRS, it still picks up the area depending upon the network provider. it is mostly on the lower left bottom of the screen, not too sure how that works.
c) Good inbuilt handsfree, however keep the phone in a dry place to avoid clogging the microphone and ensure durability of the handset.
d) The only confusing part is the data cable section on the bottom of the phone, but need to know how to download and use a data cable.
any ideas on which cable can be used, as the inbuilt system does not have a GPRS facility. so how does that work.
e) Great features for the price you pay for the phone, however do not expect a lot of extra stuff if you are used to bluetooth etc.
f) Most of the users who were on the nokia 5110 can see a better side to this phone.
How long lasts the batery in normal use ?
wow, the cheapest 65K color fone from NK. Very bright n clear screen. Paid S$150 for it, no plan. Very good deal. No need to dl any tones...very good tones built-in. Very interactive menu. So goood for users like me, sms the whole day and not do any work.......................................
This phone really can't download any ringtone. Then just told us honestly, don't let us spend money to try download.
I just got this phone and i really do not like it, you can't download any ringtones or anything! I'm going to return it tomorrow.
can anyone tell me whether the keypad is easy n smooth to press...? i'm a very heavy user of messaging... i need a phone wif a goodsensitive keypad... please tell me...izzit user friendly as well?
It uses a csd connection which is what we all used before gprs came a long.It charges you by the minute and every minute your connected not on what data you d/load..i hope this is right because cannot think of any other way.
Since this phone don't have the GPRS, how to download the ringtone?
The Good:
- Battery life
- Speakerphone sound quality
- Weekly alarm
- In call timer
- Small and Lightweight
The Bad:
- No bluetooth/IR/GPRS connectivity
The Ugly:
- No calendar/doesn;t show weekday (shows date though)

this phone suitable for old man use, coz cant create MP3, n tis phone only can compose tone like nokia 3310, no MMS and is only old fashion Picture msg (b&W)...altou got 4MB but cant transfer in Color Picture
Nokia lie. It couldn't creat mp3 ringtone by ourself. You lie. If not, pls tell me how to.
Is picture messaging same as mms?
hi, does this phone have ringtone composer like those in the 3310 those phones? thanks
One more, this is just BASIC PHONE, don't expect anything fancy like IR, Bluetooth, WAP, GPRS, MMS, etc. This phone (I believe) intended for people who need SMS and voice phone only. Not for the extra stuff. Overall for US$ 89 price point, worth to buy.
Just bought this last Saturday (24 Sep 2005), and cost me US$ 89 (No plan, I'm in Indonesia). Basic phone with great stuff inside. Talking clock for Wake Up alarm!, you'll get annoyed and wake up immediately to shut this phone talking clock. Color and screen just ok, polyphonic great (no mp3 'though). I notice USB connection on the bottom, but dun have the cable data yet. Keypad great, very easy to press and responsive. Screen visibility also great, text easily seen and big enough font (not like 7610, small font for sms....). Overall, BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS! Cheap, nice built (look elegant, expensive, and fit in your pocket), easy to use, great battery life (I need 2 hours plus of ringtone+vibrate continous activation to deplete 2 bar of battery before start the 1st charge). Battery is BL-5C, very common for Nokia phone. Much better model compared to 2600 (2600 cheaper by US$ 10).
