NOKIA 3100 its a fantastic phone compared to its competitors which are SONY ERICSSON T 310 and T 230 but the NOKIA 3100 is far to superior than alll these phones inmany areas....
Whenever u r comparig the NOKIA 3100 u have to reralize tht it is a Economy phone...NOKIA had tried maximum to incorporate advanced features but u have to look at the price tag too.
Some complain of the unavailibility of a FM radio or a Camera and Infrared. But if all these features where there the company cannot have priced it this low.

the phone support all GSM in Asia Europe and America the phone only have 4 chanel polyphonic ringtone support but the battery life is wonderful (note: more the polyphony channel ur phone support less the battery life.)
the 3100 can be connected to the Pc only through a DKU-5 connectivity cable(no infrared but this is an economy phone)
the phone can be synchronized while connected to pc .
withthe NOKIA pc suite software u can istall java games, send ringtones, type messages, back up ur phone settings etc....with the hepl of ur PC.
the light of phone flashes when it rings.looks os cool during night...and teh luminous stripe around the phone glows at night time(note:it doesnt light all night but only glows 4 few hours when u r entering frm a lighted area)
overall the phone is very cute excellenty superior in working and a trendy piece.
NOTE: This phone is only for the YOUNG and those who r YOUNG AT HEART.

phone is also available in black which I find to be much nicer aswell flashing keypad on ring feature is cool, reception is quite good

the best way to download ringtones is to do it via GPRS (if your service provider, provides it).
the other way is that you take it to the mobile market and ask the technician to load polyphonic ringtones of your choice or you can buy a CD of polyphonic ringtones along with a USB cable to transfer those ringtones from your computer to your mobile. however don't make hurry and take a survey to check out your feasability.

N3100 tones are relatively lower than other nokia phones. the best way of downloading them is via GPRS.
it is a high standard phone comparing with others (make & models both) of same class & cost.
however if someone wants same features with a camera, torche and (working)IR, increase range to buy a N3200. beside this, keep this in mind that N3200 is not supporting the current GPRS in Pakistan and it will not work everywhere where eGPRS has not been launched yet.
