To Steve and Marwan

The infrared is on the bottom half of the phone on the right side. if u see the keys 9 and #, between those keys on the right side of the phone where the blue pattern stops for about half a centimetre and then starts again, thats here the infrared is.

Marwan, save all ur contacts in your phone book to thephone, not to the sim card. once they r onto the phone, you choose if u want to save people's numbers as home work mobile fax etc. go to names, then to settings, then to memory in use, and then click phone. then u can have multiple numbers under one name

Great phone !! I'm using it for 2.5 years & I'm a sound engineer. The flashlight & sound meter from 5100 is THE MOST usefull tools for me. The sound meter in loud noise setting is accurate enough when I compare it with Neutrik Minilyser overall SPL C-weighting (the 5100 usually 2 dB lower). But I often use it for checking the broken driver / out of phase between multiple drivers that usually found in subwoofers. The durability is just awesome. The flashlight is just okay, brigther is always better, but it's okay. The thermometer is accurate. I'm a very busy person, so I need a quick keypad / system response for a quick execution SMS. 5100 is the best cellphone for that ! You can abuse it but it still works perfect and helps your work.
I'm buying the new 5140, let's see how is it going comparing with 5100.....

Nice outdoors Phone, but if you mess with the casing. and the pads or key extensions misalign, it would be hard to turn on/off or use the key pads. Make sure the shell cover is shoot to the inside mechanism. The IR is on the lower right side.

I am using it ( very hard ) for over one year. And I really use it up to edge. My opinion: Reliable ( it hit floor and walls many times, got wett in rain, high and low temperaturs, steping and siting on it etc...), good screen ( when lit ), sound not bad, accesories works ( lamp used many times, thermo and radio often, sound rarely-but phone use it for automatic volume control, calorymeter never...Many application downloaded and used ( most working), GPRS enormly used, PC conected-no problems. IR ( on right-down side ) have difficulties with PC, with other phones no problems. Battery lastin sattisfactory ( regarding usage ). Keys not that pleasent but not bad ether-no treble with on/off key ( I am using it only to swith profiles - phone is allways on ). Reception good ( not sttunting but good ).And offcourse... phone can be used to talk...quality accetible.
Overall...I am VERY satisfied ( who likes it -love it, who doesn't -cant stand it )
