walkman, 27 May 2010how could you say you got fast internet on 5233 while its on 2G with only 4kbps dloading speed... moreim using my n5233 to access this site and post comments.im thankful to have proxy settings for OPERA MINI 5 i got free internet. this is only 2g connection but the speed is very okay (except during late night)
Pinoy, 28 May 2010Here in the Philippines, we use 3G as the main method for data connection as we have hack meth... moreyou have not told me how to hack my phone for free internet connection.
it's very poor in sound, camera and video.
better to buy china phone.worst nokia phone too slow get stuck during messaging and no nice games hopeless don't buy this phone buy another plizzzz....
SidewindeR, 28 May 2010Yeah like i care about 3G. I have 2mbps unlimited broadband at my home for just 250ts a month.... moreNicely said SidewindeR. Maybe walkman is now contemplating on why in hell did he buy a 5800. lol
walkman, 28 May 2010hey sidewinder edge 30kpbs speed is not enough while we can go 130 kpbs on 3.5G so now you kno... moreYeah like i care about 3G. I have 2mbps unlimited broadband at my home for just 250ts a month. And with that i never felt the need for 3G on the go. And for your information, with EDGE, you can do everything short of video calls with that speeds. And as i said earlier, where there is no 3G coverage, you are still stuck with 2G on your phone which means that we share the same speeds. And not to mention airtel EDGE is way better that BSNL 3G herein india. In addition, 3G doesn't come with a flat rate data plan which means you have to pay for what you download which kinda sux. And by the looks of things, due to spectrum scarcity, network companies will be stuck to pay per download. It is the price you have to pay for speed. I'll take my broadband any day.
Three to four years from now if you say this, then i might agree with you but at the current situation, EDGE is still the smarter way to go.
Rajesh, 24 May 2010Hai,thankr for comments.but i wanted to know about its sound quality.is it low.plz replayYes, as compared to other phones. Sound output is low, still quality is good.
walkman, 28 May 20103g call and voice call has the same rate here...sidewinder dont play your music if youre near... moreharharhar. still better about his mommy not giving him money for a 5230. lol
walkman, 28 May 2010hey sidewinder edge 30kpbs speed is not enough while we can go 130 kpbs on 3.5G so now you kno... more5230 has 3.5G capability harharhar.
plus in countries where 3G is not that big, 5233 is the smartest way to go.
it's okay to buy 5800 if you have the money. But then again a better choice would be a 5233 and an Ipod Touch 8Gb. in just afew thousand bucks over the price of 5800. that's the best deal.
F A R A Z, 28 May 2010Finally I was able to format my memory card thru menu->applications->office->filema... moreDial *#7370# and your phone will ask for lock code. Its 12345 if you haven't changed since purchase. Your phone memory will get formatted and it shall restart the phone asking you country and region details of yours, same like you boot up device for a first time.

Luis, 26 Aug 2009People always complain, if you want both WiFi-3G and a better camera this isn't the phone for ... morei totally agree. people always complain...if you don't like this phone then don't buy it and if youre looking for a phone with all the cool and advanced features on it, you should be willing to pay more! i guess nokia released this kind of phone for people who want to experience touch phone within their price reach, so if you can afford more, try the cool and expensive ones. it's already a great cheap[it doesn't even look cheap] Symbian touch phone.
hey sidewinder edge 30kpbs speed is not enough while we can go 130 kpbs on 3.5G so now you know har har
Finally I was able to format my memory card thru
menu->applications->office->filemanager->memorycard.
But still I m unable to delete everything in phone memory without entering each folder in phone memory and deleting the stuff there. The restore factory settings option also doesn't delete the stuff stored in the phone memory (like sms, audiofiles in ph mem). Can n e body plz help with formatting phone memory like memory card?
One more thing, How can the country selection option which is shown when u switch the phone ON for the very first time can be accessed again?
Thanx
SidewindeR, 28 May 2010Ha ha... This again proves how ignorant you are... I get 30kBps download speeds with my 5233 o... moreHere in the Philippines, we use 3G as the main method for data connection as we have hack methods for free internet. ;)
Marco, 28 May 2010I agree the 5230 is the better value, especially if you're not intending to take advantage of ... moreCorrection, 5800 is buggier. ;)
Abhinav Raj, 27 May 2010frm whre i can get an antivirus for rhis one i got my antivirus NetQin anti virus cracked version @ mobile9.com... NetQin's AV is really cool...
SidewindeR, 27 May 2010Then just give me a reason not to.... Your 5800 is still priced at 14k and the 5230 is priced ... moreI agree the 5230 is the better value, especially if you're not intending to take advantage of wi-fi. The main differences between the 5800 and 5230 are merely:
1) 5230 has no wifi
2) 5230 has a 2.0 megapixel camera vs. 5800's 3.0
3) 5800 has a secondary camera
"Anecdotal" accounts also claim that 5230 has inferior sound quality and casing. Also, the 5230 is currently buggier.
walkman, 27 May 2010how could you say you got fast internet on 5233 while its on 2G with only 4kbps dloading speed... moreHa ha... This again proves how ignorant you are... I get 30kBps download speeds with my 5233 on EDGE. And tell me how often do you use 3G with limited range and razor blade like data tariffs, i'd rather stck to my always dependable EDGE. And in addition, unlike some of you who just use 3G for show off's, i do have a broadband at my home for serious internet usage. Just lik most of us here, even if the phone supports 3G, nobody here uses 3G as their main means to get connected the main reason being unreasonable data charges. But for browsing websites on the phone and for downloading small files, you don't necessarily need 3G. EDGE will do the purpose n addition, you get double the standby time. You think that i bought 5233 because i couldn't afford 5800. Well unlike some show off's like you, i just wanted a smart phone that suits me and not carry around something that i am never gonna use much. For my purpose, 5233 does everything i require of a phone and also provides some quality entertainment on the go. And 3G is not a reliable form of connectivity. In places with limited connectivity, you still have to depend on the good old EDGE. And that makes us even.
Like it or not, what i am stating are the facts. Let me just ask you how many people who owns a 3G phone does actually use it? The n70 was also a 3G phone but i know not know anyone that has done video call using 3G on an N70.
