I forgot to mention, people prolly wonder how come mine has a stylus and the one in the review doesn't. I think Nokia changed the back cover coz it's where the stylus is located...
Just got one the other day for 9400php (philippine peso) and I must say it goes way beyond what I expected. Like someone said there's this ticking sound when music player switches to the next song but after a software update it's gone. About people whining about this fone not having wifi, I think the point of this fone is to have a 3-3.5g and gps alternative to the 5530. If wifi's your thing, choose that. On my part there are very few wifi spots in my place and those that have ones are encrypted so 3g is a more stable choice for me.
My package conflicts with the review though, as it has no extra back cover, has 2gb microsd card and it has a stylus, i repeat, it has a stylus...
touch response and kinetic scrolling is better than 5530 (I was able to try as my girlfriend has one) and became even better after the software update.
the only downside of this fone on it's price range is the camera as it only has 2mp and no flash but then again you're not buying it coz of the camera...
The plectrum thing is really cool as you don't have to pull out the stylus everytime you need one.
And the audio quality is just superb as they say. I use a pair of creative ep-630 earfones with it.
All in all I'm really happy with it :)
I used a demo unit, the nokia has a long way to go before it matches up with the samsung.
Soon after the announcement of the Nokia 5230, it's time now to welcome another Music oriented phone from Nokia. Say hello to the just introduced Nokia
5235. Note that the 5230 was not an XpressMusic branded phone, neither is this one. However, it does come with the "Comes With Music" service loaded.
Its a very good phones for its price.dont blame nokia for it.many people dont like to pay much money for mobiles and surely 5230 is better than star or cookie.
Its speaker phone volume is way toooo low. its below average.see review.
this phone's touchscreen sensitivity is wayyyyy better than 5800 Xpress Music.
Review says it doesnt has office document viewer. Its a real shame not to have such a useful feature on a so called Smartphone.
WFI is very cool dude, if u go somewhere with your friend, t eat something ,or ...i dont know.....u can enter the internet for free, just for fun :) , i think this phone is cool and cheap and i will buy it if i have money :(( :((
a no wifi phone is fine... depends upon the person.. like me, what i like about this phone is that it gives me the satisfaction for mp3, touch screen, style and the price... i dont really think wifi is the best feature this phone can offer, or maybe to even other wifi phones. beacause no. 1, power wise it eats up battery making phone wifi impractical...better take a laptop than easily drained batteries... we never needed wifi on our phones before... usage wise its oool. i think this phone rocks... 1 more thing, maybe the only thing i dont really like with this phone is that IT DOESNT HAVE FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
overall it still passed... its fine. i still love this phone....
Did anyone else notice that nokia all of a sudden has more s60v5 devices than s60v3 in the entry-level segment???
Wierd huh? And I prefer my 5530 over this, although suprpised to see better sound. But wifi is too important for me
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Thanks for the idea...
And I guess you guys should spend money on getting rid of ... people like you.
I think that this phone has made for those who want a 5800 cheaper(!) and for design of it (kidding). If Nokia only put a Data Cable, there was fine.. but NO DATA CABLE AND NO MEMORY CARD will break this phone.
Anyway I have a 5800 XpressMusic and it's just the Best Mobile Phone I've Ever Had.
•microSD card memory expansion, ships with a 4GB card
•No data-cable or memory card in retail package
How about we proof read our article before posting and whilst we are on the subject, you are reviewing a bottom end phone yet you are listing features and functions that are missing from it as though it is an N97! What conclusion is your reader to make? should all these features be squeezed into this bottom end phone for the bargain basement price or should there be NO bottom end phones at all! I would go so far to say that most but not all of your main disadvantages column is totally irrelivent and detracts from an otherwise excellent review.
