I got the 5300 mainly to listen to radio and MP3 on the trip to work. Used the stock earbuds at first but got put off by the mediocre sound quality and the lack of volume, plus the fact that the cords would easily tangle up when placed in my pocket. Replaced them with a set of Sony earbuds with the old style (the best, IMHO) circular carrying case, now everything sounds so much better and louder and the cords don't get messed up.

hey guys..well i bot nokia 3250 month ago..i bot it n after 5 days it dint work coz of some manufacturing defect in it...now the component's being changed....it tuk me nearly 1 n haf month to get it repaired n done..now m planing to sell it off as m terribly dissapointed as sound quality and the loudspeaker doesnt work as it used to be before...also nokia ppl r not redy for replacement...service is pretty bad..can anyone suggest me if nokia 5300 is good phone or shud i stick to nokia 3250 only...pls do reply

I have a N70 and im dying to have an extra phone where i could put my extra sim card. I saw the Nokia 5300 at the mall and it costs around Php13,000 (about $260). But im still looking for a cheaper phone coz ill be just using it as an extra phone. Just would like to ask how much the phone NOKIA 5200 costs? I guess its cheaper than this phone (NOKIA 5300) coz the NOKIA 5200 has a VGA camera and a CSTN display. And can the NOKIA 5200 support a memory card up to 2GB just like this phone? Tnx! -Franc, Phil

the speaker sound is very clear and real loud,and the headset output is not bad at all, but i say im prety amazed with the loud speaker,cameras nothing special,and some disadvantages regarding the web use,but perfect music mobile

i keep wonderind why are so many of you crying over the camera... want a camera then buy one. afterall it a mobilePHONE. it's ment for callin in origin. camera is just an extra. and damn good one for a fhone.. besides LOOK AT THE PRICE people!

Oh, and another thing, my battery dies after a day (if I use it to listen to music and play games). So I need to know if others face the same problem. A friend using the Sony Ericsson 610i doesn't suffer from this and his battery lasts almost for two days.

I bought the phone about two weeks ago and although I find that it has a funky outlook and the size is nice, the specs for this phone can be disappointing to those who are looking for a good music phone with good video/picture quality. I used to use the 6600 and I find that although it is a VGA camera, it had better quality compared to this 5300 (with 1.3 MP). I used the video camera a few days ago and the video quality turned out to be extremely shaky and blurry especially when it's near lighting. It is extremely sensitive to lighting. To those seriously considering getting this phone for the music functions, perhaps you should consider getting Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones. The speaker for this phone is located at the back of the phone, so when I place it on my bed, the sound becomes muffled unless turned upside down.
However, on overall, the functions have not failed me and I find it a practical phone. I bought it together with a 256MB memory card, and I like it that I could store music of different files and formats (using the Nokia PC Suite that comes with the package). I could also create my own ringing tones with the Ringtone Cutter. The volume is loud enough for me, although when it comes to messaging ringtones, it is not noticeable enough and I always miss my messages.
(Well we all know that no phone is perfect. Get this phone if you want a budget-friendly music phone.)
P/s: To those who already own this phone, can someone tell me how to get rid of the dark marks on the red rubbery casing due to my thumbprints?
