i used to buy nokia phones, but i wa disppointed with the kind of service they render to customer. the last phone i bought, i sent it to them due to unit's defect, and it took me 3 months to get my phone.

"Music quality was excellent and a step above most music phones. The stereo speakers put out sharp, clear sound with much more volume than voice calls. Sound quality diminished at the highest volume level, but we hardly consider that a sticking point. Music also sounded great over the included wired headphones, but the headset connection was a little loose. We liked, however, that Nokia chose a standard 2.5mm connection."

i'm just wondering if those people who bashes this phones are really SE fans, seems like the real SE and Nokia fans only appear as there are major phone comparison such as camera test or new arrivals of high end mobiles, not mid range or low-ends... those people loves making SE and Nokia fans fan-shootout... bahers, don't waste time bashing SE or Nokia models because nobody in both fansite would listen...

Dont compare this to W300 coz both phones have their strong and weak sides;
W300:

-Pros:has megabass equalizer(proved to be very good in sounding, good earphones, large memory slot, and etc. which are better than 5300..
-cons: bad camera resolution, screen reslution compared to 5300,

5300

-pros:
better screen resolution compared to w300, better camera reslution, better design..

-cons:
incomparable sound quality, smaller internal memory, platform can't even compete to SE's platform in functionality... no multitasking feature as of W300's has..

No phones prerfect at all... they are meant for those these phones suit their lifestyle, people have different lifestyles...

this phone i admit is cool, nice and simple design yet, for budget consious peoples,.. W300i is sporty for music lovers too,..

i bought this phone today....a lot of good things to say about it bur i will stick o the bads......the material is kind of cheap....plastic...not very solid...and the slider is fragile....a long distance from d600, way better at the samsung!!!but a nice phone overall...i will come back with new experiences....

Wow, bad nokia call on this one. Im not se fanboy, I even own n73 and very glad about it but siriously se w800 has been around for what? 2 and a half years already? and it's a lot better... I mean a MUSIC phone who can probably play for 2 hours max and freakin 5MB internal? I bet even nokia fanboys will pass this crap out. and in compared to w800 there is really nothing better in this crap exept edge and a better screen. btw I dun like the design also, looks like a freagin toy

hey man, don't ever try to compare N5300 to W850 or W830. The price of this babe is much lower.

If you want, try comparing W830 to N3250, they have the same price, you'll see that N3250 is much better than W830 which is very similar interms of functions, UI and everything to most of SE phones. Just the difference in design !

Hey, It's funny that for the Sony W850 most of sony fanboys say that it's beautiful and attractive but if the W850 were Nokia's, they would say that it's so ugly, the shape is so ridiculos and it sucks

Things are the same to all other sony & nokia phones

Be wiser man, just be fair to the design. This 5300 has nice sporty design and colour

And remember that before criticise any phone, please think carefully abt the price of the phone and the customer segment that the phone aims at. Don't just look at the functions. If u like the function, try to compare any phone to the king N95

The N5300 may have 1.3Mp (not comparable to 2.0 of W810 or W850) , weaker battery, low internal memory.
But the main screen is much bigger and better, and the price is just 250EUR to compare with 450EUR of W850 and 400EUR of W830. So which one would u choose ? This phone has it own attractiveness right!

nokia,whts tht?a music phone just need a talk time of 3 hours 10 mins with just 5 mb internal memory.are you making joke of nokia fans?? .sony ericsson is the best in music phones..

Got mine today from Soundtech in Cyprus. I got the RED on. It is great and slimmer than Nokia 6111. Check out their website http://www.soundtech.com.cy and as it accepts Trans Flash Card I got a 512MB so no limitation on songs and video like Nokia 6111. And, RED is really flashy!!

the fist time i saw this, first thing to came to my mind is se w550...

then i realized, i liked se w550 better..
i do agree with those people who said that nokia should get a new design team.. i mean most of their phones looks the same.. try to experiment!!!!!!!! try checking out LG U400! it's freaking cool! motorola design team should try new things too! im tired of the freaking RAZR mania... i never liked it anyway... motorola people, try focusing more on changing your f*cking interface!!!!! try to make it to work properly! and faster.. and easier.. and pleasing to the eye...

most phones have the same features nowadays.. differences mostly lies on the camera (the never ending megapixel fight!) se wins in this category! handsdown!!!!!!!!

nokia certainly tries to offer great features but they fail in delivering some of the features... nokia phones have great tendency to crash! and that's a fact!!! (just like the ever so slow motorola)

se definitely improved over the past years... they used to have one of the most annoying phones but now they have some of the strongest products overall!!!!

value for money???? nokia, hmmm??? i dunno! nokia always release phones in ridiculous prices at first then it will drop like hell after less than a year... so i guess that aint value for your money... you cant really sell it in a fair price after a 6-9 months...

there's no perfect phone... only phones that suits you or not.... what one person likes may be the opposite for another person.. it's just a matter of preferences... if you like this phone.. good for you.. buy it! if not, well there's always a new model that will come up in a few months...

as for me.. i dont need this.. i just bought myself a new phone.. and now i own three phones... hehe... and i definitely think that there are other phones better than this one! i do think that se w850 is better in terms of perfomance and in price... you get more from sony ericsson w850 so the price is higher compare to n5300.. if im gonna buy a new phone then i'll get se w850...

Seems like poor SonyEricsson Fanboys have to defend their beloved company hardly by attacking every Nokia phone.
Do you get payed for that???
You have NEVER HEARD THE SOUND QUALITY OF THE 5300, but saying it's worse than w850!!!
You have NEVER SEEN THE 5300'S MP3 PLAYER, BUT ALREADY SAYING that w850 is better.

PS: For your recognition,
1. 5300 sound quality is comparable with walkman series.
2. mp3 player interface is comfortable and comparable with walkman series.
3. The price is MUCH lower.
4. Beutiful W850i design??? Are you blind? Have you seen its orange leds and terrible roundish keys? It's really crap you can check it out :)

Nokia has made a great music phones, only SE die hard fanboys are bashing them even before trying.
So go get the marvellous K320i, be happy :)

Just got mine today from http://www.omnicelusa.com/prod...o.asp?id=142 The phone is actually more slim then the 6111 and software is really great.

how can nokia be copying the candybar design without aerials/antennas, when they actually created it?!!? dude, they are really some BSh*tters on gsmarena.
they can't talk bout anything and they create BS about how others manufacturer are "better".
saying nokia phones are crap when they are actually one of the best price ratio/durability.
design its a matter of taste.
quality its something nokia its known for..
everybody copies nokia features..
looks at the k750i its a 6230 WITHOUT THE EDGE. just with updated features. design its worse here.

know guyz, i just don't trust Nokia producing non-smartphones anymore unlike before... they are having too much inferiority to most of the mobile-phone companies like SE,Motorola and Samsung, Nokia is Smartphone-focused company already,.. and to anyone who dares to compare this to Moto Razr or SE series or Samsung phones,.. this is far behind...

Reason,:
-Java technology(SE the best)
-Design(samsung and Motorola the best)
-features(SE mobiles are only comparable with Symbians from nokia, and not on nokia's Non-os phones)
-multimedia(SE wins)
only durability could bring out nokia 5300 better than Moto or SE, but not Samsung...

Are you nuts??? How can you even compare. When you are paying 400 Euros, you are getting a vastly superior product with Walkman 2.0 with track ID recognition, superb design, a 1 GB card bundled with the phone and sure to include the data cable with the peace of mind that all the functions that are claimed will work flawlessly...

What you get for 250 Euros is a me-too product (which is generations behind) from a second-rate manufacturer (a Finnish company named called Nokia or something like that) which surely will claim to give you lots of features, but how well and how many of them work is your guess as good as mine, inferior battery life, poor music quality, and you can bet on it that you will have to shell out about 100 Euros more to get the same capacity card + data cable + headphones that won't even dare come near the quality provided in the box by Sony Ericsson...

So if you calculate all that, the 400 Euro product actually is more cost efficient and economical. Don't just look at the sticker price, look at the total cost of ownership over the life of the phone and the value it provides for all of your hard-earned money and you will come to realize that the Sony Ericsson product is by far a better deal any day.
