Hi Doog.
Even when the phone is on silent and the keypad unlocked, you can hit the music key to start songs.

Hey... I have a question. Is the volume a serious problem or is it just a simple one that some of you are having trouble fixing. Need to know quick. Thinking of buying the phone today. Thnx.

Hi everyone.
If you have this phone, can you answer this:
when the phone is on silent mode and the keypad is unlocked, does the music go on if you press the side music keys?
I mean, can the phone start playing music even when it is on silent mode, because I need a phone that stays silent when it's on silent mode.
Thanks in advance.

those freezes are bugs & only happens when you play mp3 formats w/ high bit rates.. but that can be fixed by firmware update, but as of now there's no FW update yet.
i had this phone for almost a month now, & i never encountered any restart or freezes, and i use eAAC+ song format instead of mp3.

I just saw the phone yesterday and i was considering buying it today. But then i saw all ur "freeze warnings" which kinda freaked me out. Can any1 please do me a favor and tell me whether its an inevitable problem and whether it can be fixed with ease or not?
Thanks

despite all the "restarting" review that i read here, i still bought the nokia 5310. after a month, i experience not even once the restarting phenomenon that you guys having. i did all kind of test on it, music playing, .mp3 hours of playing (i left it playing while i was sleeping), missed calls with locked and non locked keypad.
i am extremely happy with it. i previously have the nokia 9300i and decided to buy this phone because of the slim and vibrating function. when im not working, i divert all voice calls from 9300i to this slim and small phone. feels like im carrying nothing!
is this phone worth it? yes..
is this phone has low loudspeaker volume? yes
is it really really low? no.
will it be better if the loudspeaker is louder? yes.
is the headphone speaker really good? yes
am i happy with it? yes.
and so should you.

hi all,
i have too a 5310 since past 15 days. it's about time to nokia announce any information about 5310 problems and even make a recall as cars brand usually do. i've e-mail nokia and they told me to go to a service care, unfortunately service care doesn't have any kind of fix (hardware or firmaware). it's a shame to nokia. since five years my mobiles were sonyericsson and zero problems. lack of luck choosing this phone.
