I bought this phone in December 07 and just recently realised quite a major problem in terms of the software...
Everytime i listen to music ( with and without headphones), it would suddenly turn off, but then turn on again as if to restart in a way. Then it says it is 'updating music library'.
It at first happened at random, but now it has been occuring nearly every time i listen to music for a period of time...
does anyone have a similar problem??

Hi OLIVER,i am currently using v3.63 after updating the software to 5.8 how much difference comes in sound quality and ringing tone?

i Just bought this phone last saturday on 19th April, and oh my God it's the best phone. it being slim allows you even have another phone on you at the same time. At first it's sleep mode confused me.

after updating my phone v.5.81 The battery began to be unloaded more quickly((((3 hours keep only if to listen to music((It so bad

btw i just put mp4 video on my phone,, i can hear the sound but cant see the pic, how do i fix tat ?

I bought this for about $110,00 in Brazil! and I think this is the best phone I've ever seen! the sound is amazing! Nevertheless, the headphone is assimetric(one cable is bigger than the other)!!! and I think there is a BUG in the volume control(like someone here said)!!
Conclusion - If you want a phone focused in the
MUSIC - this is the ONE!!

the nokia will gonna release a
new advance nokia 5310..
it's called the 5320...
it is more advance with 5x5 sounds...

What do the "+" & "-" keys on the right side do? Aren't they supposed to control the volume of the speaker during a call? Or at least the music volume?
How may I set those up? I just bought it yesterday, and I guess I remember seeing them function on the LCD, but today I can simply get no response.
I guess somebody knows how to use them.

@Alex:
Well first you need to put in your mind that Nokia can beat SE in both terms of music nad picture quality. If you can't I don't see why you aren't going to the nearest store to buy a K850.
But if you rethink the facts again and accept this fact you can think on replace your good old K800 maybe with the N82 or wait a little more and get the cheaper N78 or 6220 classic that seems a great value for the money. But if you want the best music quality go for the N81 (it eveen won vs W960 on a comparision) and you know that N95 won against K850 and thats the fact. I'm not saying that because I invented that Nokia now beats SE in music and picture quality, that's was said by experts.

I also have the 03.63 version and i can't find another newer version.i've tried to search another software update but they say there is no update for my model.please help.

Here's a little help on upgrading your firmware..
follow the link that oliver has provided: (Nokia software updater)

follow all the instructions.
on my case, firmware update founded instantly (the 5.81 version)
for some, update may not be founded, but what i did when i encounter that during my first update (to 3.8 something) i just keep on trying to search for an update then suddenly it became available. so just keep on searching continuously until the update became available (i dont know why sometimes the software cant find the update, just be patient and dont stop :) )
newest firmware is superb and the sound is great now..yeah it rocks! have fun..

Hey guys. I'm currently using sony ericsson k800i(Cyber-shot). I've used it for a year or something i guess. So far so good. But now i'm about to buy a new phone and looking for a better one of course. I would like to buy a phone which has a better pic quality (not less than 3 megapixels) or at least the same and better sound quality as well. As you all know, se is good on both. For your info, my cousin is using n95 and i figured my phone's pic quality is sharper than that 5 megapixels phone camera and right after that i putted in my mind that nokia can't beat sony ericsson in terms of pic and sound quality. I don;t want to make any silly mistake. So can anyone expert tell me which products is a better choice if i want a very good and loud sound quality and great camera?Sony erricsson or nokia? And what model is that? Please reply this as soon as possible. It would be much appriciated. ~Thank you~ =)

hi,can anyone tell me that after updating software to v5.8 the sounds become more superior than 6233?presently my software is 3.6 and its music too too low wrong name given to this phone.i am planning to change this phone because of the ringing tone is too low if after update the sound becomes good then i wont sell it so tell me how much difference will be there after upgrading software?

i uninstalled it 3x times..the same problem...it says that it isnt any update for my phone!at the v3.63 the sound is very low and i really whant to update pls help!!
