I just don't know what to get! E63 or 5530. I like 5530 because it has 3.15 mp camera and very nice music. I like E63 because it has dictionary. And E63 is cheaper! Someone please help me!!

> In reply to nairbs @ 2010-04-01 10:40 from w0Q$ - click to readDear nairbs,

It's not difficult to identify fake Nokia and Genuine Nokia... Even when you check outer look, menus etc you can say... (Build quality and Nokia's particular menus..) However that requires you to have a pre knowledge of Nokia mobiles.. If not then I would suggest following tests... (May be there are more simple and better tests.. But now I only recall followings... May be doing a brief search in internet may help you a lot in here...)

1) Download Nokia PC suit or OVI suit and install it.. After restarting the computer connect your mobile to the computer.. If it's identified properly by the Nokia software then it should be genuine...

2) Try the codes of Nokia (life timer code etc...) whether they works or not..

a) *#0000# (if your mobile is genuine this code should give you a menu with details about your software version etc...)
b) *#06# (this will show you the IMEI particular to your mobile. Match this IMEI with the IMEI no shown on the outer package you have. If your Nokia is genuine both IMEI should be same.)

3) Go to following link and read the article...
http://discussions.europe.noki...s/m-p/366514

4) Check your IMEI no from below website...
http://www.numberingplans.com/...p;sub=imeinr

5) Try installing some software which support S60 V5 like Google Maps, Nimbuzz, Fring, Opera mobile (Not opera Mini) etc... I don't think you can install them in fake Nokias as they are not symbian smart mobiles... (Don't try JAVA installations.. They can be installed in Fake Nokias... Only try *.sis files..)

And you can directly go to a Nokia care center and give your phone and ask them whether it's genuine or not.. That's the safest and easiest way I think...

Hope this will help... Good luck friend...

No... It doesn't have pre-defined 5800 settings... (Though it has i-phone settings) However it won't be a big problem when you get familiar with the program.. Always use "MPEG-4 (FFmpeg)" video Codec instead of "H.264" which does not really work with either Nokia 5800 or 5530.. And always put *.mp4 as your out put extension instead the default extension..

Other things you can trial and see by yourself... It's not a very simple & user friendly software... But it's a comprehensive application which we can't really have for free...! (Our respect goes to the kind hearted developers...)

Dear all friends,

I checked my Bluetooth GPS receiver attached with Nokia 5530 and the pair works perfectly...! The GPS receiver only cost me 45 US dollars and it's certainly better than the in-built GPS receivers...

For an example Nokia 5800 only can track maximum of 10 channels simultaneousely...
Source:http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/.../GPS_Reviews
(Scroll down please)
But a normal Bluetooth GPS receiver can track 32 to 65 channels...
(My Bluetooth GPS description says it can track up to 65 channels but I could only see 32 slots in my mobile under satellite signal condition..)

Well.. Now here is the performance of Bluetooth GPS I've got..
It connects pretty fast and show the location with the accuracy of 2 to 20 m... (Depends on the signal strength..) And often finds 8-10 channels and refreshes once in a second... So I find it very impressive...

It works with Nokia OVI maps, Google Maps (very very cool...!) within a matter of seconds...

So I strongly recommend you too have a Bluetooth GPS ONLY if you really miss GPS in your mobile...

Please ask any question if you want to know more about this... OR please correct me if I've given wrong information here...

> In reply to b @ 2010-03-31 22:45 from L6W5 - click to readDear b,

I always use 'Handbrake' (Freeware video converter) for converting Music Videos for my Nokia 5530 mobile... If you're aware of certain things about video encoding, resolution etc... Then that software will be a treasure... Lot of customization, so many options etc are available.. After all, it's a free ware (Which was one of the TOP 5 FREEWARE announced by CNET reviews..) and the only one COMPLETE FREEWARE I know as a video converter..

and keep auto update of time to "off"
