@jay and other guy: you need to set the GMT time settings to (f you in india then GMT setting)+5:30 and keep the daylight savings to + 0 hours
and keep auto update of time to "off"
it will work.. !!!!

It supports Nokia OVI maps.
The only problem Im experiencing now is that the clock seems to be always on the go. Yesterday it was 20 mins advance now its 30 mins. Weird.

> In reply to Anonymous @ from HHHH - click to readDear Amit Ahuja,
I visited to your link but didn't find Nokia 5235 that impressive... It's same as Nokia 5230 and I couldn't find a significant difference between them except the internal storage capacity & the name itself...! So why you wait for 5235, you can still buy 5230 which already has got GPS and a high quality Music out put as an extra gift...!
BUT...
The form factor of both 5230 and 5235 are same...! and that's what makes Nokia 5530 Xpress Music unique in design...!
All below Nokia touch mobiles have the same form factor... (Which is 111 X 51.7 X 15.5 in mm - 83 CC)
Nokia 5800 Xpress Music
Nokia 5230
Nokia 5235
Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition
Nokia 5233 (Only for India)
Note: 5230, 5233, 5235 are not belonged to Music Xpress family even... (That's strange but don't know why...)
But Nokia 5530 Xpress Music has a UNIQUE form factor... Which is 104 X 49 X 13 in mm. (68 CC)
And the increase in size (in 5800 form factor compared to 5530 form factor) as a percentage is nearly 20 percent... That means any of above 5800, 5230, 5235 Nokias are bigger than 5530 by 20 %...!
I find this matter as the most stunning difference between Nokia 5530 and the rest of touch screen family of Nokia... Because 5530 is so tiny, so cute and so sexy in all aspects...! after all it's the ONLY phone which has that design... (The caption of the GSMarena review also it says "Winner by design" regarding 5530...) And I don't have to mention about the 'Stainless steel' finish of 5530 which easily overcomes the (cheap looking) plastic made 5800, 5230 design...
Please note that this is my personal idea and I know there can be people who prefer bigger phones but for sure I'm not one of them...

I'm also still in Firmware version 20... I don't think there will be a firmware update as this firmware is pretty solid... Very few bugs and those are negligible I suppose...

Hei... Who told you Nokia 5530 doesn't support OVI maps...? I have OVI maps right here in my mobile and I downloaded whole Global map (which of course was about 5 GB total in capacity) with all the details...! (That download is available in www.dotsis.com) However I've still got 4 GB card so I'm not going to copy whole map to it as it's not really possible... (and it'll slow the system down too...)
I only copied Asian maps where I belong, and it works like a charm... Each and every junction, fuel stations etc are there with details... (Though for Sri Lanka Nokia OVI maps still under development...)
Only shortcoming is, this mobile doesn't have in-built GPS so we'll have to buy a separate one... I did so and let you guys know what is the out come...

> In reply to Sweet Gurl @ 2010-03-30 10:56 from PVVT - click to readDear Sweet Gurl,
I'm taking the exact words you've mentioned...
'Does it SUPPORT GPS?' My answer is 'YES'
If you asked 'Does it has GPS?' My answer would be 'NO'
Well... Clearly it's like this.. Nokia 5530 doesn't have an inbuilt GPS receiver.. By default it can't give you the exact coordinates of where you are... But still it can suggest your position by using your service providers coordinates which are not really accurate...
BUT... On the other hand, you can buy a Bluetooth GPS receiver and connect it with you Nokia 5530 and have your own GPS bundle out of the pair... That's why I said, this mobile supports GPS.. These dedicated GPS receivers are better than inbuilt ones so I suggest you to buy one...
Two/three weeks ago I purchased one and today I got to know it's been received to my home... Give me two or three days... I will tell you guys my experience with it...

Thanks a lot dear brother..! You guys are big strength to me... Don't have words to describe so I'm not going to try...
My working schedule is just like yours.. I've got work in Saturday up to 1 PM and all other week days...! Fortunately I don't have any restrictions in using internet here...
You said you can't access social networks due to restrictions... May I know whether those are country based restrictions or office based restrictions...? Have you ever tried 'Anonymous proxy' web sites in order to visit the web sites which have been banned...? Please do a little search in google for 'Anonymous proxy' or 'hide my ip' then try one of those websites which will work as a bridge to go to where you want... Just try that.. (If you've not already tried that way...) May be that will work...
Good luck brother...
