hei nuwan,i have found an apps which named "iMelo",it's a music player with ipod-like cover flow,but i cant download it as the file size is too big(800MB++),can u help me?thanks in advance!

plz, i would like to buy a phone and am thinking of 5530 or 5800. what is/are the major difference b/w them.what app/softwares can i put in one and can put in the other. tx

I think that indicates something particular to my IP address... He often use the sentence 'God bless you' which I've never used in my life, and his posts are too short and can be identified easily if you look at them carefully...

I'm sorry for the trouble brother... I can see how much you're frustrated...

Actually with the previous firmware versions (Previous Firmware version means any firmware which is lower than the latest one that is 20.0.80 if I remember it correctly...) the things you've described could happen... I used this mobile only for several days with the old firmware and it always hanged and automatically restarted during that time... (May be twice a day it happened...) In your case, you only faced it twice a month, that's because you're not a hard core user of the mobile.. You only use the mobile for listening music and watching videos except for calling and SMSing... But I did so many things so my mobile hanged often.. Then I installed newest firmware and now it's working fine for several months... So far so great... (Not to mention that I'm a hard core Music listener and I do so many experimental software installations risking everything and so far phone is working like a charm...!)

So as far as I can think, the problem is with the old firmware you have in your mobile... You better update the firmware as soon as possible...
(When this mobile switched off, sometimes all the recent data get deleted... Though it's weird, it happens sometimes because we sometimes have to remove the battery in order to make it start...) Sometimes it keeps the memory but sometimes it looses all the recent data.. (I don't think it has anything to do with firmware)

Your second paragraph is not really clear for me... Can you please describe it bit clearer...? You've asked 'y the way why do we need to upload softwares ??' but I didn't get what you meant... Do you mean why do we need to install applications...? Right..? If it's that what you meant then this is my very simple answer... "By installing 3rd party software, we can achieve numerous things and you'll not even believe how many things can be done using this small device... It'll be very like your Computer after you've installed software in it.."

Please have a look at below list of applications... And you decide whether they are not useful or useful...

Here is a MUST HAVE application list for Nokia 5530 Xpress Music.

1) Google Maps (Just like Google earth on your PC)

2) Y-Browser (File manager software, but way better than the default one... You can go in to hidden system files too)

3) PowerMP3 (Good Music player)

4) Resco Photo Viewer (Photo browsing, Photo editing software like ACDSee in your PC)

5) Photo browser (Photo browsing software with a very cool 3D like interface)

6) Quickoffice (Can Open, edit Office documents like Word, excel & power point.. Even Microsoft Office 2007 files can be edited using the new version of quickoffice mobile.)

7) Adobe PDF reader

8) Paint pad (Picture drawing tool)

9) Opera mobile (Very good web browser)

10) Youtube (You can view even high quality youtube videos directly from this software without any problem.)

11) Fring (VOIP calls, Video chat via Skype, Facebook, yahoo messenger, google talk etc chatting...)

12) Bright light (Use your mobile as a torch)

13) PhoNetinfo (Gives the System information of your mobile)

14) Kaspersky Anti Virus (Protect your mobile from virus, Spams etc.. Block unwanted calls, firewall also available)

15) JbakTaskman (Very good task manager like software)

16) RAMBlow (Memory cleanup tool)

17) Free i-SMS (Threaded SMS view just like in Apple i-phone)

18) SymSMB (You can connect to any network via Wifi and you can share a folder in your mobile as well..)

19) VMenu (Menu view just like in Apple i-Phone with kinetic scrolling..)

And much much more... (There are hundreds of them...) You will come to know if you really need your mobile to be a small wonder...! (Which will give your friends huge surprises...!)

OK.. as I said before you better thank the phone because it has worked fine for 1 month with the old firmware... (It's really strange why...) May be because you're not pushing the mobile to hard works as rest of us do... Whatever it is, I can definitely say, listening music or watching videos is not the cause for your trouble... It's the old firmware... Update your firmware and everything will be fine...

Nokia 5530 has speaker phone facility... Who told you it doesn't....?

It's up to you to decide whether to go for 5800 or for 5530 because it's totally depending upon your preference...

5800 is more feature rich but 5530 more stylish...

Go for what is more important to you...

whts up?? how u doing?? n yah its been like one month since i bought this phone.... n till now i have only installed sm videos n lods of music thats it!!!! its like i have used its all potential!!!! bt u know wht?? 5 days back my cell hanged n i switched off n then only hang removed ,. n again yesterday it hanged i did the same n thyen it was fine!!!! bt today u know wht??today when i was listening music it automatically switched off n again switched on n moreover date n time were all changed n all recent calls were all deleated!!!!!
damm whts the problem bro?? i was quite happy 5 days back due to its performance bt now this occured!!!!

n moreover i dont know wht happens when software is installed?? by the way why do we need to upload softwares ?? n can u tell me wht r its uses?? n man i have only used this cell for music n video only till now!! so jst wanna ask u that wht wht r the things we need to upload like software n wht r their uses n yeah dont forgot to mention abt my above problem!!!!! bt theres one thing i m music lover so i listen music all the time so is that the one problem?? i hope not!!! waiting for ur reply!!!!

Hi,
i am planning to buy a new phone... and my choices are between 5530 and 5800... can someone please let me know which of the two is a better choice and why?

and also i read on the nokia site that 5530 does not hav speaker phone, can someone please confirm this for me...

Tell your friend (who's sick and tired regarding often hangings...) to update the firmware of his mobile... Then everything will be just fine...

Now I'm using this mobile for few months with the latest firmware, and it very rarely hangs.. That also due to my own experimental software installations etc... very reliable phone... I love the experience with this so far... and have no idea of replacing it to a new one sooner... However this is my personal opinion... You better wait for bad comments too...

Hello everyone-my relative recently got ths phone-and he says that the phone hangs a lot, keeps ringing even after the caller has disconnected and in short has a lot of problems to the extent of which he's considering selling the phone.
I liked 5530 a lot in the very first look and am considering buying it.
could u please tell me if you guys have been having any problems with the model? or if u have heard anything?

i've tried to update through NSU using pc but after update my phone did not start at all and i'd to get replaced from Nokia Care. then i tried to update form mobile itself. there is update option on application menu but it did not work. then i tried this method using *#0000#. at first it says server error(something like that) but on second time it ask me to download the upload and it works fine. hope it will also help u.

I only have tried Kaspersky Mobile Anti virus (version 8) and it works fine for me... I like it due to following matters.

1) Though it has real time protection, it doesn't slow down the mobile
2) Updates are regular and reliable
3) Built in firewall available and you can customize the strength of the firewall
4) Custom scan modes available (Full scan, memory scan etc..)
5) Anti Spam - Black list/white list of contacts.. (You can either block or allow calls)
6) Stealth SMS facility (if you lost your mobile, it can be locked and you can delete all your private data using a simple SMS)
7) SMS watch, SMS block, Parental control etc...

If you find above facts are reasonable enough, then you can go for Kaspersky mobile Anti Virus... (I have to admit that it's bit expensive for me... So I'm not using a paid version... I downloaded a cracked one from www.gsmarena.com and it works just fine...)

Though I haven't tried it, I think it will support... (The headset coming with N97 or Nokia 5630 Xpress Mesic should work with this handset too...)

However I can't confirm this as I haven't really tried it.. Anyone who've tried it, please tell us whether it's compatible or not...

Can anyone tell me if i can change the ear phone contained in the nokia 5530 box (in pack) with the one having the next, previous, etc. function. Because the box contains simple ear phone and i want to change it. I love music so it is a must have facility for me. Will it be compatiable.
