Hi All..
I used 5630 since a 2 month ago.. 1 month ago, my 5630 war error, it suddenly hang and cant be turned anymore. Then i bring it to nokia care center, and they fix it. But recently, my 5630 often restart by itself. This happen more than once a day. Anyone know what the reason? Is it caused by a virus? And can i fix it by myself?
Thanx. Sorry for my bad english.

Dear Jay,
I'm really sorry for your situation. Not it's very clear that it's a problem with poor programming in Nokia's OS.
Personally I'm also having some problems with Nokia's symbian OS and I see no changes have taken place for a long time.
Classic example is,
When I compare my phone with Nokia's E65 which is quite old symbian phone, I actually see the same features (same sms interface, same settings etc...) It's true that Nokia has done some nice eye catching improvements to this phone though for a 3 years of long time personally I really don't think it's sufficient for a field like mobile industry which is rapidly changing every minute.
So... This call is for Nokia...
Just listen to us... Understand our needs... Then reprogram your software in a more user friendly manner...
You have great hardware... Why lazy on software programming...?
I think you agree with me... Don't you jay...?
(I made several complaints to Nokia "contact us" regarding firmware better improvements... I think everybody who has these sort of problems should directly complain Nokia so that they'll try to do something on their next firmware update.. At least we can hope that way.)
Good luck brother...

Dear Lamvn,
Actually I updated the firmware just after few hours I've bought it... So I personally don't know what are the improvements taken place.
But I did a small search in internet and found out that it has solved some music player hang problems and some other minor bugs.
If you want more details why don't you just google the problem...?
Good luck brother..

Dear ......?,
No... Sorry... Speakers are not good at all.
But reasonably OK for a very thin symbian phone...
This thin beauty is fully packed with lots of stuff so there's no room for a good speaker... I guess...
However, Who cares about the speaker... Actually even the Nokia original headset also not good...
Buy another good quality headset (Eg: Creative) then you'll feel the difference...
Nokia is very good in Audio Chips... But not in Speakers or headsets... Too bad... Right?

The reason I asked such a question is there are different ideas about it. Many people checked its CPU speed with different software. Most of them showed that CPU of 5630 is 192MHz or even lower!
I myself bought it 1 yesterday and I am going to upgrade the latest firmware, I want to know the improvement or changes with this firmware?
What improvements or changes does it come up?

Dear anik,
Actually for firmware updates you only have to install "Nokia software updater" in your computer and then connect your phone to the PC using the data cable.
Not to say your computer must have an internet connection.
For more details about updating procedure you will find another reply of mine in this same site under 5630 comments.
Please don't go to 3rd party software updating procedures. It'll damage your phone and noone knows...
Go directly to Nokia website and download "Nokia Software updater" and that is the safest and guaranteed way of updating your phone...
Good luck brother...

Dear Lamvn,
Actually I did not get what you meant... Because I don't know how the processor speed will be changed by a firmware... It's like when we have Dual core 2.4 machine, in windows XP it'll show 2.4 dual core and windows Vista as well it'sll show the same..
So why did you ask something like that...?
Even if you change your firmware, unless you don't do anything to hardware (which is quite impossible...) the processor speed would be the same. (600 MHz)
However for the record I have to tell you that there are so many arguments going on whether this phone has such a fast processor because it's so unlikely. Even very expensive N series phones don't have such a fast processor and this has. I saw there were comments that Nokia has made a mistake when mentioning phone's hardware.
But there were other forum which states "this phone really has 600 MHz processor" and those statement were based upon their benchmark tests with certain benchmarking software.
Though I have not tried any benchmarking software yet by myself, I personally do believe that this has 600 MHz processor because menu speeds and application launching speeds are excellent. (I've used N73 and E65 both having symbian OS with about 400 MHz processors and 5630 is really really fast than them.)
But one more thing. Processor is not the major fact for faster menu speeds. The major reason for that is efficient menu programming. That means nokia has come up with effective firmware this time and it suits well with this processor too.
As for your firmware problem... Based on above statement you can hope even faster responses in menus and so on from an update, as the firmware update is always supposed to be efficient and better than the previous one. (I mean supposed to be...)
Hope this helps...

Dear rafay,
I had the same problem just like you mention on my nokia 6670. It display several multicolor lines before complete blank.
I had to replace the screen module to repair it which i didn't do because the screen module is more expensive than the phone price itself :( (it's not original, can't imagine how much the original nokia screen module is...)

> In reply to Nuwan @ 2009-12-09 10:48 from w9L7 - click to readDear Nuwan,
As ive said on my very first post, the problem is the phone itself, better yet, its OS. my previous phone was an n73 and had had the same problem before. its not the sim since ive tried inquiring my airtime credit through the sims menu (the sim menu is the one sending the message, not through messaging and later on i got my airtime credit info), its not the network since ive already tried using a different phone on my sim.. lets just say that ive done all the basic troubleshooting stuff but still the problem persists. both my n73 and n5630 are symbian phones, so most likely theyd have the same flaw. i also have friends (who owns an nseries phone) encountering the same problem.
sending group messages or a certain message (example would be a quote for the day) to a lot of people in your contacts list at the same time would somewhat trigger the "resending" flaw until you wouldnt be able to send a message at all..
and i dont think having the phone formatted is a solution since ive already tried that one, after formatting, phone would be 'A'-okay, but later on the same irritating problem will occur *sigh*..
we have unlimited texting promos here in our country so why the heck would we enjoy it if the phone itself is defective in the sms category,..
and nuwan, ive been to different nokiacare centers in the country and know what they did? they just formatted the phone.. and after a month or so.... the same thing happens again..
why dont you guys try it, if any of you owns a nokia symbian series 60 phone, try sendin group messages, ud understand my dilemma clearly if youd experience it for yourself..
lastly, i went to a nokiacare center earlier to have the problem straightened out, sad to say, the line of complaining customers where overwhelming that it just discouraged me..

Dear confused jay,
I think your name is jay not confused jay... Right...?
Anyway as for your question, I really don't have such a problem of sending messages (though honestly I haven't tried group messages yet) also I did not see same error before in this user opinions.
So my suggestion is you better check sending group messages with another phone (using same sim card) too. If the problem is same then it's not a problem with Nokia 5630, it's the network service provider.
If the problem is only with your phone then it must have something to do with firmware version. Did you update your firmware...?
Regarding to updating firmware, please follow my previous comment on updating firmware.
If it's updated, then I think you better go to the warranty claim option... Obviously you should have 1 year software & hardware warranty to your phone and you better use that without wasting time anymore.
Please share with us what happened...
Good luck and best regards brother...

Dear xm,
No... As far as I know, there's no TV out functionality in Nokia 5630... Sorry...
But I'm alsways wondering why people need that facility at all..
Because for me, TV is not in my list. I use my PC all the time while women in our home use the TV...!
(If there's a movie I really want to watch.. What I do is download and watch it as I want..)
Well... That's my personal opinion though...
