Take your phone back and they should either replace it OR repair yours under warranty, a smartphone like the 5700 SHOULD be able to boot up with the memory card.

That's so weird, my phone has the same FW and it has no problems to run with my 4GB micro sdhc class 2, if you say that your brother's 6120c isn't having problems to run with that card I think is a problem with your 5700. But don't worry, just try to update your phone via Nokia Software Updater or visit a Nokia Care Center to get your phone updated.

5700 cant be found at stores anymore..
am from the philippines..
check out ebay.com.ph
the phone still there for a low price and still with warranty..

I have 5700. I'm in india. My firmware is 3.27 i went to nokia site. Enter my code then found no update for my phone. Is it possible to update to latest fireware?
The second problem is my phone memory has remain only 13 mb. There are no photos, videos in my phone memory. I want to know how to delete unwanted memory.

Bro,my firmware is v3.27,i tried my micro sd to my br0ther's 6120c,and it b0ot eventh0ugh the mmc is inserted,ive tried his 256mb micro sd to my f0ne and also,it started,just wat happens n0rmaly,bro,wats the matter wd my f0ne?tnx f0r the help

I had expected the same from the latest firmware v4.21 but bro trust me my phone is in really horrible state by now. Start up has a lag. Then opening menu takes 10 seconds. Battery Back Up is now down to a single day. And almost anything I do with my phone whether its messaging or making calls or using clock or calculator the phone either gets stuck or simply restarts. Also the city bloxx game is really tough for me to play as u had mentioned in ur review. I had gone thru ur review bro before going in for the update. I read all ur posts before going for update. But I just dunno wat has happened. Besides Nw I believe dat u cn help me out wid dis. Plz provide me vid ur e-mail so I cn sort my phone out. I wud b grateful to u if u cn help me vid dis.

The problem could be a corrupted micro sd. To solve that you'll need to format your micro sd (you can do it trough a card reader or directly on your phone).
The other reason could be your firmware. Which firmware do you have. Only type on standby *#0000# to find your firmware.

To dilmeet ( reply to his post on 29th april , 2nd page )-- I just cant understand what u mean. Let me tell u , when u update the firmware of any handset , u can be 100 percent sure that , there will be 1 or many other features enhanced in the handset. And u have said that , u cant play city bloxx game , cant send sms , cant make calls ! What has it got to do , by updating ur firmware ? What is all this ? I hope u r not joking. I am using 5700 and its almost a month , since i updated my firmware from 3.27 to 4.21 , and the handset is working absolutely fine. Not only me , but a whole lot of my friends , relatives , and many others who are using 5700 , have updated their firmware to 4.27. And , the handset is working absolutely fine. No more lag/hangs. It works very smoothly. There has been a noticeable increase in the volume of music player , and overall , there is a stability in the handset. Infact , as soon as i had updated my firmware , i had written a detailed review of v4.21 in this very forum itself. Search for it , and u will get it. And , as we all know , Nokia is the world leader in mobile manufacturing , and do u think , when they release the latest firmware , it decreases the efficiency of the handset ? I dont think so...and i am the proof to say that , handset is working absolutely fine.May be u have updated the firmware by any link/smewhr else. If u go to ur nearest nokia care and get the firmware updated , then u can really enjoy the handset , much more than now. Anyways , good luck. Cheers.

Im fr0m phil.and br0wsing here free using operaming mod on my 5700,the f0ne is gud btw i have questi0n,when i open the f0ne and the mem0rycard is inserted,it d0es n0t c0ntinue to reb0ot or open,just stay on white screen wth the n0kia l0g0,but if i restart and take out the mmc,it b0ots up easily.wats d pr0blem?the card is 2gb.pls help.

today i have gone to shop to purchase 5700. but the shopkeeper told me that 5700 is closed by nokia. so for that reason i buy n73 me which is good then 5700 espect speed

Higher price of N Series is in general a marketing strategy form nokia as N Series has a separate marketing department. Nokia sales them as their best device so it can not have lesser price any how.

In reality You'll usually find N series phone with some thing more than usual like in some phone its N Gage platform, in some its hardware accelerometer and so on. And otherwise it could only be looks like N76. So the difference in price is basically because of these extra features and N Series Brand.

But we customer knows this. So we brought 5700 ;-)

can you mount a microsd card higher than 4gb ? it should be posible if the phone has SDHC compatibility

Btw I wonder why nseries are much more expensive than these phones(6120c,5700, and soon 6220c and 5320). Nseries specs isn't any better than this(maybe wi-fi, but what else?).

WEll...the fone is fine..but yea the scroll isnt that great..+ the headphones ain't good...mine's volume diminished mysteriously..nd i got 'em changd from nokia care..bt the new ones lost their volume too...note that i am a hardcore music freak with 7-8 hrs music everyday..so..+ the fone's loudspeakers..suck..yea they do..they ain't loud as N73..+ the quality..ohh man u wudnt recognize the song ..in a closed room it ill sound gud..but not otherwise ..when wid frndz outdoor..! But the fone is rough ..not Delicate at all like all nokia fones..!

No, the joystick is firm and isn't wobbly.
Mine works great (especially when browsing songs in music menu, playing games and when confirming commands)!

I've had my 5700 since June 2007 and runs smoothly.
