To my fellow 5700 buffs,

All I can say is, this phone is complete, for me at least. Though I have a 30gb iPod, I want a device that fulfills my needs. I use this for communicating, browsing and of course- music.
I don't mind Shure earphone's price (I was also stunned by the price), but the experience is priceless. I have two 4gb microSD's. The first one contains songs (different genres)at 128 kbps bit rate, the other contains songs at 192 kbps (classical music, to be specific).

Of course the 4gb micro sd fits well. I have no problems with it even if my firmware is v3.27. So you wonŽt have problems too because your firmware is better.
@ Everyone:
Of course the Walkman phones are past tense. They got stuck with their mega bass but no improvements in audio quality since the w800. Mobile review said that today are better phones from Xpress music and Samsung ultra line than the Walkman range (ANd IŽm not saying that, An expert said it)

this phone really is great. Hands down.
I've spent a lot of goodies just to make the most out of my 5700.
As of late, I've purchased Shure's SE420. And by listening to music through these earphones, my 5700 became a true blue music powerhouse. I'm using a 4GB microSD, (i wish the 8GB Card is available here) and my songs are at 192kbps. Sound quality is life-like. Like no other phone can offer.
5700 tops the list. Walkman? Nah, it's yesterday's news. No contest.

I simply want to say that, there is no need to treat this phone as a Music centered device it is a All rounder,

Great processor, multi tasking capable nice Symbian OS, Smartphone features, a really nice screen, remote & at last capable of playing clear music which is not the case with many loud music phones. I own a philips & IBall headset & belive me it sounds good.

And at last phone with so many features in such a economic rate. Its indeed a great deal.

Even you feel tempted & often come here to distract people but reality is reality it may not be as good as SE walkman(taking ur words) phones in music department but its a best package and can simply be called as JHAKAS.

I know you'e not arguing, its just I think you used only some SEs and Nokias, whereas I used lots of phones, wether these 2 aboe, or Motorola, Samsung or LG.....I also thought that SE was best in sound and camera, but I realised that, as you now, I was living in a dream world....SE are no more the boss, even in the sound section...accept the fact, and please no more praising of SE here in our 5700 thread, go do this in your SE section...

PS: I have 2 headsets and 3 pairs of earphones, one Sony, one Samsung, and one Philips, only for my 5700....and I'm not counting the AD-44 which I got along with the phone.....don't you think I listen through earphones???.....

Friends tell me which v is best for music 3.83.1 or new 4.21 please tell me the difrent for sound quality pls pls

to meh. I think ur phone need to be flashed ! Or it needs a latest firmware update to v4.21. And by the way this phone don t use ribbons in d rotating part. It uses hardcore durable metal wires instead. The only ting though is to ensure that dust don t get below the joystick because it affects the switch that switches between camera mode , music mode and video call mode. And the joystick is very durable and it is a very small d pad. I own this fone 4 7 months and i have investigated its internal parts.

True, thats just your opinion, i had the choice between Nokia 5300 and SE W850i
i chose W850i becuase i wanted a change from owning Nokia's i had 6233 at the time i still have it but dont use it for Music, becuase of the Battery life which is my Main concern for Nokia Music Phones

i just Hope Nokia improve on that

Yes i have heard a 5700 its Loud il admit. but surely the whole point of a Music Phone is the EARPHONES it comes with !

Walkman earphones are the Best at that :)

Can any1 tell whether da sound quality is high,whether da camera is betta,and also will der b any prob regardn da music player twistin stuff..i mean any ribbon probs...thanx guys pls help me..:-)

We have written a lot about the covers. They are exchangeable but for that you need some practice or to take your phone to a Care center. If you want to do it yourself go to this 5700 thread:

Only you need to sign in and there you can post every doubt about your 5700 (just like here), but there youŽll have the advantage to find people talking only about this phone and not fans of other models or companies that are bashing this wonderful mobile.

The speakers are awesome, crystal clear sound and are much better than many phones not because their loudnees and clear sound.

hey 5700 is da bomb,the twisting mode can anyone tell me about the covers and external speakers 4 us who hate earphones.i luv the phone i bought it last week no problems so far.

hey did any one have d same problem as me? i had my 5700 from the first month i bought it,it works fine but this poblem came when i am playing music then the phone went lowbat when i try to recharge it lits up but after a few minutes the light turn off ad it semed that the phone is not charging i try turning it on but it only lite a white light and after several tries of turing it on the white light is gone already and nothing happened i send for it for fixation then it turned okay then that same day dat i took the phone from the repair station the phone again was lowbat then i tried to charge it aGAIN THEN
the same thing happened... what do u think is the problem? or does anyone encountered the same problem? what did you do and what do u advice me? thanks... im waiting for anybodys reply hping to revive my phone back cos if i send it back to d repair station my parents will probably blame me or buying 5700 instead of n73 well i pick 5700 cos of its design and because it belonged to the xpressmusic family.... pls help tnx any help can do.....

Have you upgraded your phone's firmware, do you found the music bed comparatively with older version 3.83.

You'll simply have to change the date of your phone some months back, install the app & reset it.

Dani, don't be like that. I know you're expressing your opinion, but I think it's a bit overboard already.

I spent time deciding which phone to buy: Nokia 5700 or SE W610. Considering every strength and weakness of each, the 5700 was the winner for me. I still liked 5700 more after having been able to use W610 for weeks. But you won't see any post from me bashing SE at any SE page within this site 'coz I also like the company and most importantly, it is my way of showing respect to SE people.
