I m going to change my cell phone very soon. but i m still confused between 5700 and N73.... Which one should i go for? My friend han 5700... Ireall like it, but the problem is it does not support some .sis files.. I tried to install Oxford Medical Dictionary on it (which i use on my N72) but it could not be installed!! Can any one explain?

Its exactly what Vip_Blast said, you would have to download AND THEN still sign the virus then install and run it, S60v3 is a very secure OS i understand what mean that theres always a possibility but this would come only if you decide to install it, i don't have any anti-virus apps on my N81, and yet i surf a lot of different web sites BUT ONLY DOWNLOAD from a Trusted site. My phone has more than enough RAM but running an AV to me is stil pointless.Knowing that a 5700 only has around 20mb RAM at boot up i think you would rather save up that RAM rather than having a currently useless app running.

I'll explain it to ya bro.....OS 6/7/8 can be infected by a virus (e.g. commwarrior), as there are no certificate authentification needed for these phones.....5700 has OS 9.2, which has its own system security...for a virus (which still dont exists for that platform) to infect the phone, you must download the virus (must be a fool to do that...lol), then get it signed, then installed it on your phone, then open the virus and then give it full access to your phone, then allow it to infect the phone.....only a 300% super fool would do something like that....haha, just joking.....
I dont use an antivirus (although I have F-Secure and Kaspersky cracked version), as it consumes my RAM for doing nothing at all.....better keep my RAM for other things, like e.g. Gameloft Massive Snowboarding...hehe.....

ahmm. u know wat... i bought another 1 5700 at the same store were i got the first 1 wen the da other 1 dont turn on... the next day i went bak and said that the phone that they give dont turn on but actually that was the first one that i bought ////...

Thanks! I got the games to delete.
But now I have a similar problem.
I downloaded glassplayer & its not working or deleting. I tried downloading it again but it just makes a new glassplayer next to the old one.
I hate how this phone deals with applications it is getting on my nerves.
Please help me!

Those who have unlimited internet connectivity will usually browse any site. And though it is true that there is no known virus for this platform yet but what is the guaranty that no virus will come in future. And I personally do not feel any harm in using a AV when surfing net.

for those who having problem of self-reboot often : please try to use other network sim card, it was happened to me either 3 months ago, then after i changed another network sim card it's working perfect !
Is it because of phone or network ?

Why are you using Fsecure? Why are you guys using anti-virus apps? There are currently no viruses for S60v3, its way too secure its been around for around 3years STILL no virus. Just make sure you download from trusted sites.

I guess you are using some third party app. May be some antivirus app, or any other app that scan activities.
my 3.83.1 also crashes when I use that with F Secure. Check that coz this is a stable firmware otherwise.

Of course they still are selling Nokia 5700 in the Philippines! They're much cheaper, too. They've still got plenty here in our local Nokia Center in SM City Iloilo. Though, it's true that this is one of the fewest bought S60v3 phones here in the Philippines. I'm willing to bet that there are only 0-1 other person with a 5700 within a 20-mile radius of me right now. ^_^

Hi my firmware version is v3.83. 1 and it's giving me problems . It doesn't restart but turns off on its own. What can it be?

That restarting problem may be due your firmware version. I think is v3.27 like mine and this particular firmware version shows that issue. This can be solved if you take your phone to a Nokia care center to update your firmware.

Hi, i got the phone and it is really great. Problem is that it sometimes turns itself off and it can be pretty irritating. I have reset the phone but it hasn't helped. Can someone please email me and help me out.

I'v had this phone for 6 mons now and its working great! The music is good, camera, and the applications all work properly. Th eproblem is that sometimes it freezes, but that can be easily solved by turning it off then turning it back on...The twist part wrks amazing and DOES NOT get loose...and teh joystick also works perfectly...This phone is one of teh best!!

This phone is good......very fast
but i m little unhappy about the dual speaker of the phone.....volume of 3250, N73 is much more higher than 5700.
secondly
some times phones gets restarted automatically
......i dont know why it is happening...
