I bought this mobile in white/red two weeks ago. It´s wonderful (I bought it as a replacement of a 6681) and I have no other words to describe it. The only minor flaw is the paint on menu and C keys that peels off very easy :S
But isn´t a big letdown for me, I love the music quality, the 16m screenm, the s60 (I installed quickoffice, adobe le, sis games and other stuff) and recently I ordered a 4gb micro sdhc but I´m going to receive it the next weeek.
PD: In my country this mobile is available only in this color and I can´t imagine this phone discontinued because it´s so good, better than Walkmans and has a very short time since its release (less than a year)
great trick indeed. ive always wanted to use 5700's flash as a torch when i go to gimmick's (lyk reading the menu etc.). some of us will find this useful indeed.

ayt. i'll check out cdr king gateway when i visit the place next tym. shure earbuds are quite expensive indeed. i think the price ranges from P3thou and up? the sound must be that good. uv invested a lot in your fone.. wow.
Nice trick. It did wok.
I'm not much into torch stuff but who knows? I might find them useful.
Hey guys, do you really want to show off the sound quality of your 5700? Then try to get 'Rule the World' of Take That on your phone....
Do you want a very rare tip?...I found the way to use 5700's flash as a torch!!!...and without using any app!...here's how to do it:
Run camera application through menu, do not twist the bottom part. Then set the flash always on. Take a picture with joystick, when the flash turns on, quickly twist the bottom part to camera position, the flash should stay on. If you are not successful for the first time, keep trying.
Hop it works for you...:)
friend, I bought mine in gateway. perhaps it ran out of stock at the moment. but i'm sure they should have it available since microSDHC is slowly becoming a popular format. mine's a sandisk.
i have a total of 974 songs in mp3/m4a/aac/mp4 formats with at least 128kbps and 192kbps atmost. i'm not much into photos but i have around 4 hours of videos (music videos to be precise--downloaded from youtube and converted to mp4 format). applications and themes are just stored in my phone memory.
no issues so far. it doesn't lag/hang/get stuck/restart. since i'm a music buff, i just bought yesterday (payday, that's why) pair of Shure E4G in-ear headphones.
(it's as if i bought another cellphone because of the cost)
the sound was incredibly awesome! bass was superb! high and low frequencies were clean and clear. you can hear every bit of detail and i enjoyed listening to my songs like i've never heard them before.
the in-box headset provided with the 5700 was nice but it still lacks some 'oomph'. i have a Nokia BH-501(stereo bluetooth) and a Sennheiser HD515 (closed, ear-cup) headsets. the BH-501 is good if you wanna be wireless. the Sennheiser is good in private listening. i bought my Shure in-ears since they were praised and given much positive feedback.
and i wasn't wrong when i made the purchase. listening to music through them was so fulfilling and rewarding.

ive already checked some cdr king branches in gateway, robinson's metro east, and greenhills but i havent seen any 4gig card yet. where did u get the 4gig?
They havent. they stopped making the red and white one but the black and wite ones are still in store!! i had a red one but it friken got stolen!bummer!! but now i have a black one! they said the red one was a limited edition... sux!!
I bought a pair of Shure E4G in-ear headphones after getting my pay yesterday. I got them from Automatic Center Gateway Araneta.
I was so stunned by the sound output! The details were clear, bass was so crisp and didn't distort/muffle the music!
I've been using 5700's in-box headset (which are just fine) and my Sennheiser HD515 closed/ear-cup headphones. I ventured into in-ear headphones since as some forums suggest, they sound great.
I even tried the Shure E4G's with my 6270 (with an adapter, since 6270 had pop-port connection), and the sound was satisfying. Volume at low-levels were still clear and even if placed at high, the sound didn't hurt the ears. I also use it with my iPod.
With that said, there should be no argument as to which line of phones sound great. It's not just with the phone but the headphone, basically. With these headsets, I'll care less whether my phone is a Nokia or Sony Ericsson or a Samsung. The headsets make the difference.
Now I understand why such headphones in that class cost as much as a cellphone. But you get to reward yourself sometimes. I'm totally content with what I have.
No problem dear kabayan! In my case, when I first used my 5700 seven months ago, I thought it was kinda odd when menu sounds were heard until I discovered it.
By the way, is 5700 the only phone that has audio themes? My brother has 6120 classic and it doesn't seem to have one (according to him, since I didn't get to try the phone).
And again, about audio themes, 5700 has four default themes. But you can download more from europe.nokia.com/5700 then look for phone software. Some of the tones and sounds were nice.
Just to share also, 4GB microSDHC cards are now becoming common. I recommend you drop by at any cd-r king outlets. having that much space gives such enjoyment. It's P2,280 when I bought mine.
@ashes of manila..
hey! i did it! i found out that the opening menu on the menu events is the one that's activated and making the noise! i thought my unit had a defect. phew! maraming salamat kabayan! guys, let's continue helping each other out. I think this is the most lively and helpful forum ive ever joined with. cheers!
If you say sounds are heard whenever you press menu key, that means the background music or enter/exit menu sound in the audio themes is active. Try to select General in profiles, and check on Personalisation>Themes>Audio Themes>Background Music and/or menu events.
Of course an audio theme should be active, you need to check on menu events. If background music is on or if enter/exit menu sounds are on, then that's it. That's the reason why sound is heard when you hit menu key and exit from it.
Hope it helps. I actually downloaded more audio theme packages from europe.nokia.com
keep ur cell in silent mode & this sound in not coming. on that time
hi to all. please help me out. yesterday, i was just browsing my 5700's features and then all of a sudden, i hear a strange sound when i press the menu button on the left side.. i know it's not the button that's making the noise because the sound is coming out from the 2 speakers both on the left and right.. it's like a sound of something being sucked in. i tried rebooting my phone but sound is still there. my mobile's firmware is 3.83 (or 3.81.. not sure). has anyone encountered the same problem? what should i do to resolve this? please advise.. thanks for any help. ciao!
I usually download applications(chat,mp3, games and others) on these websites:
