the central joystick will last trust me. but my serious problem with 3250 is that after 3 months the phone, out of the suddon, didn't recognised my memory card any more. it wasn't a software issue cause i reinstaled it it was a harware problem. P S it is till in service after 1 and 1/2 weeks.

well, here's wat i can say about battery life of both nokia and sony ericssons. as wat my experiences tells me, SE's batteries and stated official talk time NEVER been accurate or even come close. an example of which is k750, official talk time is 9 hours but in reality, it can only last up to 4 hours and 10 mins continuous talk time (call) on a fully charged battery [note dat i bought my k750 straight from a SE shop/store so there's no excuse of having a fake battery]. contrary with nokia, i had 6230i and official talk time is 3-5 hrs, in reality its about 4 hrs 5 mins, another one is 6630, official talk time is 3-6 hrs, in real life, it can last up to 3 hrs 45 mins (GSM not in dual mode) both on a fully charged batteries respectively. as stated, 5700 has a 3.5 hrs talktime but must never b d basis how long 5700 wil b able to play music in loudspeaker and/or when an earphone is plugged. at least, nokia is being more realistic and true than other brands.. =) peace out!

what i said was i have a W850i the battery lasted without Charging for 6 Days and that was without Charging it lasted from Saturday to Thursday without charging and i listened to the Walkman everyday of that 6 days it Neer died never said the bettery was low soo Sony have a good reputation for long batterys Nokias to me batterys drian very quick but if this 5700 has the same battery as the W850i il buy 5700 becuase i prefer Nokia to SE

I am not saying that SE has poor battery i am just saying that it will not last for 12 hours contineous music through speakers if you are using external portable stereo speakers than case is different as external speakers uses saparate battery then it may last for 12 to 16 hours sorry (moe) if you dont like my words although Nokia 5700 will definately have good music than walkman phones this phone have music playing time of about 10/11 hours which is quite good

Not a SE fan always crashes (yes it might just be mine) rubbish battery braaap! is totally right the battery lasts an hour max when playing music full volume out loud switching to nokia from my w850i is the best decision i ever made. This phone is phat! It has everything and much more than Walkmans! cmon a audio chip even the walkmans dont ave that and theyre music phones hahaha!

I aint saying ur lying but what sort of a preson has their phone on loudspeaker when they are at work? where do you work for godsake!? lol Anyone, weather a SE fan or not will know that the phone will last about 2 hours max when the music is out loud thru the loudsoeaker :)

From the pictures, it looks pretty sweet. So it doesn't have that sleek look, but I like the whole sporty attitude it projects. The specifications it lists sounds very impressive.. but then again, I'm not that hard to please. The whole twisting concept to me sounds like something that could amuse for days. >>;; The color scheme isn't all that bad either, it's.. unique.
Anyways, I think comparing and judging the so-called 'performance' of the phone when it isn't even out is just plain stupid.
P.S. People have their different tastes. If you like Nokia, then go ahead. If you like SE, then go ahead as well. Just don't start being an ass and force your stupid opinions on people. -.-

well ED i do have w850i and i didnt lie , simply coz i dont have to lie bout it .. i dont use ma fone dat much , i mean for calls , i work alla day and i mite get 3 or 4 calls dats all per ma shift and ma music is on most of the time thru the loudspeaker , so i dont mass it but i do listen that much hours and the battery goes on for the next day .. and if i went [flight mode] it will give me more .. so please dont call me liar and get sure before u thro such a word .. well yes i agree that nokia is givin me a better feature's with smart new OS [which is a plus] for almost the same price , i cant denied that SE is always pricy but as i told you @ the end of the day i got good music and battery as well with less crashin or laggin [S60] .. dats it and as i said before im not tellin that any is bad its juz ppl prefer's im a music man i prefer SE over nokia ma bro is more into applications and so he prefer Nokia S60 or UIQ , dats all .. but im consider'n 5700 coz it sounds Good with the whole package and Good price :D

either you are liar( lieing) or you dont own SE w850i becoz how could a cellphone who gives talktime of 7 to 8 hours could last for 12 hours playing music through speakers it uses same or more power than talktime becoz phone not only play music through speakers but it also need to encode the file or song(mp3,aac etc) so how could it last for so much time does you play only music dont use your phone for it's main function i.e, receiving calls i am sure u are liar

At the end of the day, sony ericsson are good you cant deny it but Nokia offers so much more for your money please comment if you agree.
Take the w850i for example...
its still over £200 and all you get is the walkman music player wich by the way is the same as all SE music players but without the mega bass (wich is aload of carp) and the walkman logo. A rubbish camera thats more like 1mp then 2mp (w850i users should agree with me here) And all the basic functions. Yes the screen is good and you get a memory card but now think that this new nokia 5700 will be priced around the same and you get everything you do in the walkman and....
A larger screen with a bigger physical size yet a good resolution ( this phones screen is the same as one found in Nokia N73 but smaller) wich means that it will be one of the best sreens around. Actually it will be identical to n80;s screen as the have he sam dimentions and the N80 i believe has the leading display on a phone to date. You get a dedicated audio chip wich isnt even found in SE and they are supposed to music phones?
And of course you get Sympian 9.2 3rd edition. Smart phone and 3G. And i think the twisting keypad is an advantage bacause its easy to switch applications and its really fast i watched it in action on www.youtube.com
You get all that more for the same price yet people are still judging, it just doesnt make sense.
Yes the nokia N-series is expensive but i think theyre worth it but this isnt but it may as well be because it matches the spacification....Yet nokia brought down the price.
