Im a Nokia fan, but this phone kind of dasappointed me... Sorry Nokia but hopefully ur next touchscreen wil impress me.
I congratulate Nokia for meeting the need of the not so rich who desire a touchscreen phone and those phone lovers who desire alternatives to WM devices which are equally capable devices though.
I LOVE THE 5800!
I am however very surprised and appalled at how certain persons judge and condemn, rather than critique the works of others. As intellectuals, we are taught to be critical and not Judgmental. All mobile phone manufacturers require commendation for their efforts to bring us products of varied technological and artistic designs to spice our lives, and I have found going through constructive reviews of all products exciting; but downhearted at harsh condemnations. Nokia keep it up. Lets have health competition.
Bakekang, 14 Oct 2008No. It's not a wise choice. 5800 is just a testing device. The S60 touchscreen flagship a.k.a.... moreI think its a great choice. Nokia has had experience with touchscreens on their internet tablets. Thats why i dont think of 5800xm as a test model. How come you hate this phone so much?
this phone is literally a "bomb shell"
i've always hated nokia and am a sony ericsson man...but since my phone got knicked i have begun to see the light ie. nokia's 5800 xpress music. no matter what anyone says this is at the top of my christmas list...and no comment is gonna stop me from purchasing this phone that is almost too good to be true, ps: does the stand and guitar pick come with the phone?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970in india this phone will be out in 3rd week of nov with 18500 rs
I agree with you. symbian has won the battle over wm already. I have so may wm phones no one can beat N95 by all means. I think this touch baby will sell like hot cakes. I am from Hong Kong.
bluepeter, 13 Oct 2008Do you wont compare Nokia maps to proper sat nav software ??? I aleready said 3 times is not a... moreWhat do u want to prove.
If win mobile is so good then why people prefer Symbian, do u have any answer---No.
I tell u why ?
Because its very easy, intuitive and fast.
Buy a win mobile with 128MB ram and 624MHZ processor and see how slow ur win mobile runs.
And buy 6210, 6120 both has 64MB ram + 369MHZ processor and see how fast it runs.
Symbian has different solutions to maps than win and it is much better. I think u haven't used both OS otherwise u wouldn't have talked nonsense.
Here is the review of the Nokia 5800 http://www.mobile-review.com/r...0-2-en.shtml
Tell me what you think?
Anonymous, 13 Oct 2008i'm thinking of buying the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - is this a wise choice????????? No. It's not a wise choice. 5800 is just a testing device. The S60 touchscreen flagship a.k.a. Nokia N98 will be released on Christmas.

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2008Sorry for the arguments. I just got so mad when bluepeter started insulting 5800xm and symbian... moreDo you wont compare Nokia maps to proper sat nav software ??? I aleready said 3 times is not about OS but about Preocessor ARM type in nokias need much less power like Intel in WM devices . But Intell on same frequency like ARM processor is much powerful . What lame answer 3d navigation for symbian doesnt exist because they dont need it :))) But true is , symbian can handle it because is not powetful enough. Thats a fact. Like I said symbian is good OS for smartphones not for Pocket PCs . Do you know the diference betwen Smartphone and Pocket PC ???
graficool, 13 Oct 2008umm sorry, but we here are talking about 5800, not operating systemSorry for the arguments. I just got so mad when bluepeter started insulting 5800xm and symbian saying all sorts of trash which wasnt true. I just felt like i had to respond.
umm sorry, but we here are talking about 5800, not operating system
bluepeter, 13 Oct 2008Ha ha ha wake up , Power comsuption is on about OS but about Pocessor . OK if is Symbian that ... moreGeez. Not you again. WM needs more processing than symbian, hence the battery drain. Everyone knows this. If a symbian phone had a similar processor, it wouldnt have a battery drain because it wont have much processing to do.
WM=more processing=less battery life.
About unconverted divx movies, they can play on symbian without a problem. You dont believe? Check out the samsung innov8 preview on this site. It played movies without a problem.
About your tomtom issue, the applications for WM and Symbian are different. You cant use a .sis symbian application on a WM device. The tomtom software for WM and the tomtom software for Symbian is different. Plus the latest version of tomtom works without a problem and isnt slow.
About your 3d navigation iG08, symbian doesnt need it. Applications for WM and symbian are different. Symbian already has alternatives implemented differently by manufacturers, e.g. Nokia and samsung. I dont see nokia maps for WM. Do you?
Check your facts before posting. You just hate symbian and you shouldnt talk trash when you so obviously know nothing about it.
Anonymous, 13 Oct 2008Get 5800xm. HTC have never been good with cameras, sound and battery life. Plus 5800 is much m... moreHa ha ha wake up , Power comsuption is on about OS but about Pocessor . OK if is Symbian that good and powerfull than explain my why tomtom6 is not runing smoothly like on WM devices and why doesnt exist 3D navigation iGO8 for symbian but only for WM devices . Symbian is good for smartphones not for Pocket PC or phones with touch screen , Try play unconverted 700mb divix movie on symbian ... no way ! On 4 years old HTC magician or 5 years old Palm treo 650 no problem !!! Pleas explain this for me !!! LIke I seee you knowlege about smartphones , Pocket PCs is very pooor :)))
