i will wait for nseries touchscreen phone not for this one with
8mp camera with xenon flash
navi wheel key
and 3d gallery
now my n82 is far better then 5800
Double tapping is imo extremely ridiculous. all TS phones open a program with only sigle tap. but this phone deviates the standard. But in a nutshell maybe because non-TS S60 apps work with navi-Dpad which requires two actions: selection and execution. in order to compensate with the input method, nokia UI designers has decided to implement double touching. but hopefully nokia can get rid of this idea sooner or later.
guys.. i like to buy 5800Xpress Music, but first thing i would like to know if this is a good one along to others.? and wer can i get a low price to buy it compare to other store..? tnx
Iam a nokia fan. This dude 5800 is sure going to be a big hit.
But nokia. . Why dind you go for the "Touch Capacitance" type. . The tech used by iPhone instead of the touch resistance you have currently deployed. Anyways ity truely cool:)

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2008CEOs here still uses blackberry as it is more reliable. the problem with iPhone is it does not... moreMost companies use Blackberry and Treo because they are more business, professional oriented phones. The iphone is a multi-media smartphone that is geared more towards entertainment, lifestyle, web resource and scholastics.
Apple is not shy about its "walled" approach. It is their way of protecting their products, their customers, and the interests of others as well. Now, if you are the type of person who supports piracy, bootlegging, or anything alike, then the conscientious iphone is not for you.
And do not tell me that buying the iphone would be a total waste because before my iphone I had the Viewty, N95 and then the Diamond, and none of them gave me as much contentment as the iphone does. It does not have every possible feature, but it has features that I find more useful and valuable. And most of call, its quality and functionality is unmatched.
Noel, 05 Oct 2008Listen, iPhone is lame! Only good thing is touch screen. Tha'ts the only revolutionary technol... moreTo Noel. You obviously have not used the iphone if you say that the only good thing about it is its touchscreen. The iphone has the best functionality, and that is a very big thing. The iphone has 16m colors as well, and even though Nokia has a higher resolution, the iphone's not bad either. And for BT, yes, it would be nice to have it, but not to have it is not the end of the world either. And what iphone antagonists are doing is, they make such a big deal of those small features that are not included on the iphone =) If the iphone is merely a hyped product, no one would have bought the iphone 3g.
I think nokia came out to late with touch screens. My opinion is that if they will not be ahead with at least one step in front of other companies from now on they are gone
Usman Qureshi, 05 Oct 2008Actually nokia is the best.............! Dnt want to say that all other brands are of no use.... moredude nokia copied the iphone. Face the facts. They want to rule the market so they copy copy copy. & this is not the first time!! they copied other brands too. Nokia would never make this 5800 if it wasnt for the popular iphone. ( well maybe at a later date). And for your information I hate that stupid iphone am a nokia fan. Lol. Se samsung apple and nokia are not friends. They hate each other. So they copy ideas from one another to make a better product so think again. They only share the symbian os thats all.
Anonymous, 05 Oct 2008Are you seriously going to take 8 MP images using a cell phone? I don't even do that with poin... moreSo this is called a mid range phone when compared to other nokia mobiles but compared to other brands like se samsung & apple its a high end device? Hmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually nokia is the best.............!
Dnt want to say that all other brands are of no use........they're also doin well....!
But Nokia is Nokia..........!
And i luv becoz there is durability in Nokia Phones..........!
And ppl who r continously sayin dat nokia has copied i phone N others this isnt true........!
Why shud nokia copy.......nokia has its own identitiy own name in the Market so nokia dnt need to copy anyother Mobile phone.......!
IS That Clear to Every One there...........!
Why does everyone think that this phone is meant to compete with the likes of iPhone or G1??? Nokia is not a one flavor cellphone maker, like Apple who has various MP3 players for different customers(Shuffle, Nano, Classic, and Touch); Nokia makes various Cellphones, Smartphones(Classic, XpressMusic, E-series, and N-series) to fit multiple customers needs. This phone is not Nokia's response to the iPhone or G1 or any other Touch based phone, this is Nokia's first stab at the Music Market which Apple dominates(in the U.S. for the most part; thus it's under Nokia's XpressMusic line up and not their Stronger N-Series Smartphones).
The price announced is killer for one very cool reason... It includes a one year subscription to Nokia Music, which Nokia will launch in the U.S. first quarter 2009. With that subscription, you have unlimited song downloads that are DRM locked to your phone and PC, but yours to keep forever without giving them back like other services ask you to do. After that there is a la carte option subscription, which by my guess will be very competitive to other music services. And if that wasn't enough, everyone should read the specs that the new S60 5th edition OS has to offer(which had been under developing long before the touch crazed hit the U.S.). It not only offers improved copy and paste functionality(over the existing system on all S60 devices), but FULL Web Browser(with Flash Video support, which was already present in S60 3rd Edition FP2 devices) on a new High Resolution(640x360) 16:9 aspect Screen to name a few.
And with all this said, this phone is still under Nokia's mid-range line up; which in the end makes you wonder just how much you're paying for an iPhone or G1 that claim to be High-End?
