Hi all,
I bought 6030 phone just because my friend pursuaded me. I think it is a blunt model with no support of infrared or bluetooth, which is an inevitable these days. Moreover, ringtone is always ascending no matter even I choose ringing. Only 1 game is provided that to awful. I initially had 3100 model which has good built in polyphonic tones. But 6030 has a bunch of noisy tones not worth listening even once. The phone has FM radio option, which is fortunately good.

Hi,
In response to all those questions as to whether your Nokia 6030 supports data connectivity through cable, the saddening answer is NO. The port at the bottom of the phone (it's a 4-pin Mini-USB port) is only for servicing (ie software upgrades, flashing etc). This was the response given to me by Nokia's Customer Care directly.
But what strikes me as funny is that, if you check out Nokia's description of this Phone's features on their website
(http://www.nokia.co.in/nokia/0...944,00.html)
they say its got a Plug and Play connector. What's the use if you can only "Plug" and not "Play"!!
But I admit, it's a great phone, no-frills, great battery life, network reception and reliability.

on questions regarding MMS on 6030:
the MMS send/receive is working fine, but every network has its own MMS settings for every phone model. so you have to download/update these settings first. it's almost SOP for MMS-capable phones.
there are separate data cables sold for the 6030. unfortunately i can't find one anywhere, so i had to figure out how to upload photos from my PC. i found a neat way to do it. upload your photos on the web (there are tons of sites that offer free web hosting) and download it via GPRS. my network provides free GPRS and charges only when i download something (something like $0.003 per kb) so that's an advantage. also, photos don't lose their high-quality this way (as some networks do to accomodate OTA MMS).
as with the polyphonic ringtones, i use the same method. there's a neat PC program called the power tab editor (for musicians) where you can download these tons of popular songs and export them as midi files. not too many great accurate songs are out there, so this is a very good alternative.
i hope all these helps.

Darnit, I've bought a Nokia 6030 today but there's something wrong.
Whenever I select a ringtone to be used, and I switch the telephone off and on again, the ringtone has set back to the default ringtone, which is "ringtone 24 sp midi.MID".
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Other settings like keyboardsound and loudness of the ringtone are held just fine after switching on and off... Plz help :(

Hello Sir/Ma'am, I have bought a nokia 6030 (only after satisfying myself with the reviews of your Site). I found a 4 pin Mini USB interface at the bottot(Bottom Connector). I tried in different places to get a connector for this but I failed to get one. I live in Bangalore. Kindly help me out to get one.
Thanks

I bought a 6030 yesterday...
I needed only to switch on and off the phone, I didnt removed the simcard. Maybe it needs to be switched off for a longer period cause I experienced background image to be gone in the morning after 8 hours of off state.
If so it would be really interesting ;)

You can turn off the menu-backgrounds by:
1) Display Setting - Wallpaper - Off
2) Place an other SIM card in the phone
3) Turn-on & off
4) Place back the original SIM card

How can I turn of the background in the menu's?
I once succeded in turning them off, but don't remember how... so it is possible.
(Never downloaded any theme; only the background of the menu is the problem).
