It's finally come to my town just last week, and you know what? A mobile telephone hardly gets any prettier than this. This is definitely going to be my next one after my 3220 contract expires in September. And let the price drop a little too

Hi Nokia people, can i please get an explanation on the Nokia 6080 concerning the TEXT PHONE feature? i realy do not get the meaning from the manual as it's not comprehensive. 'Text Phone' is reached by going through MENU, SETTINGS, and then ENHANCEMENTS. Thanks.

To Faisal

TFT: Thin Film Transistor
CSTN: Color Super-twist Nematic

To learn more about phone screens you can also check out this link:

http://www.zdnet.com.au/review...74313,00.htm

Let me be frank with you, AVOID all CSTN screens period! This is a weaker and cheaper technology compared to TFT.

Phones which implements CSTN technology in their screens are very slow. Slow response time when accessing the menu, dialing a number (especially from the SIM Card) and just doing general activities within the phone. To make matters worse CSTN screens are illegible in the sun. When you are in the sun you won't be able to make out anything on the screen UNLESS you have bionic eyes.

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology blows away STN/CSTN technology by a wide margin. First of all, the reaction time in which items are displayed on a TFT screen is much faster...reason being TFT has built in circuitry in the screen so it doesn't have to draw and redraw each image/text. Secondly everything seen on a TFT screen is clearer and thirdly you can make out pictures and text clearly enough even in the scorching sun.

As you can see, the TFT has some vast improvements over CSTN, BUT one advantage that CSTN has over TFT is less power consumption so your cell battery will last longer if that cell phone has a CSTN screen.
CSTN phones are cheaper as well that's why you are bound to find the lower-end colour phones with a CSTN display.

Stick with TFT if you want first class quality.

OK Nokia Folks, stop this right now and go back to the greatest phones on earth, PLEASE!!! First of all explain us ALL why do you think this is better than a 6310i? Second, you Nokia Designers... haven´t you realize that with all the ridiculous features you are puting in the devices you are taking back one of the greatest thing nokia use to have: Battery life. Yes, remember the time where you use to charge your battery only once every 12/15 days... I do, and miss it!!! 4exaple: design a new 6310i, add a memory slot, NO CAMERA, keep the design, KEEP THE Monocromathic display, why do you need a colour display on your phone for? Would be could that you add a music player, but there is no need for a color display if you use your phone to communicate & entretaiment could be satisfy by an Mp3 player... Mobile Games: Gameboy... Mobile Music: Ipood, Camera: Lumix, Mobile Phone: 6310i, I would appreciate that users stick to their needs: a reliable mobile phone, not a fancy one... Best Regrads, André Vondran QA Engineer

This is the very phone iam looking for, it has every thing except Bluetooth, the main feature is that it has a Usb connectivity. And it has EDGE technology. Every one should try this once. Bye...

This is exactly the look I've been waiting for at a phone.I did not have the opportunity(yet)to hold it in my hand and see it inside, but I already read all about it.I saw it for real and I love it.From what I know it's a 6070 with TFT display, but it's still a better style. What can I say? It's the best for my needs.
