While the phone work it is a wonderfull phone, nice resolution (it is small, but good for a cheap phone, LG cheap phones are much worse), supports Java, and is quite fast for a budget phone, it has a awfull defect, the entire line has that awfull defect:

After some time (seemly random), the screen start to flash blue, and after some time the screen go completly solid blue.

After 2 weeks trying to find a solution, I only found other people searching for a solution, and no solution, the only thing that I can say is: STAY WAY FROM THAT PHONE, unless you want spend fruitless hours trying to figure how to fix that idiotic defect (I gave up myself, I will stay without phone, since I have no money to buy another, and this one I can not see what I am doing...)

> In reply to Loren Samuelson @ 2009-06-02 01:50 from j@HNI have a problem with the 6085 as well... the screen went blue and it wont come back until you slam it shut. It looks real classy in public cussing at your phone and slamming it shut... (just for the record). As well, it does drop calls as if I live in the Jungle. great...a 2 year renewal or ..wait until september with a blue screen... ummm BLUE SCREEN.

Bought the pink one when I upgraded cause the black one I had worked great. YIKES! Night and day difference. The 1st pink one would decide I was using a headset or Bluetooth. I could only use it as a speaker phone. The little icon of the headset would just pop on when it chose. YES, I DID CHECK TO SEE THAT THE BLUETOOTH WAS TURNED OFF. Was still under warrenty so I got another one. Great for a month and today it decides to display the Headset Icon and only work as a speaker phone. I have reset, rebooted, verified and all that fun stuff. I don't drop it, don't abuse it, or any of that so please don't lecture me. I am a grown-up and treat the device as a grown-up should. Has anyone else had this problem?

I just found out from AT&T that the Nokia 6085 is a problem model for Nokia. I'm working with my third Nokia 6085. The first one I damaged. The second phone just stopped working. My insurance policy covered a no charge replacement. The replacement arrived and was trouble free for 7 months. Now this 3rd phone will just shut down while I'm talking for no apparent reason. When I called the 800 number to tell them the problem, they said that I'd have to pay a $50 deductible, and they would send out another Nokia 6085! I told them that I thought that having to pay a $50 deductible was only if I damaged or lost the phone. They said, "NO". When the phone is out of warranty (from the date of the original purchase, not when the last phone was dlvd.), there was nothing they could do. This was their policy. I then called my carrier, AT& T, and explained the problem I was having. They told me that Nokia has a lot of problems with their model 6085, and have received a lot of complains about this model. So I said, then why the heck doesn't the company own up to the problem and send out a good phone to replace the 6085? The CSR said she would look into it, and get back to me.

But, it looks like I'll have to wait until July and upgrade my phone to a Blackberry Pearl for $99, and renew my service for two years if they are unable to get me a new phone at no charge. Personally, I hope NOKIA goes out of business like GM did for knowingly selling inferior products.

If it wasn't for the AT&T representative that told me that this model has been a real problem, I would have thought I was an isolated case. But evidently I'm not. Anyone else out there having problems? We need to let Nokia know that we will not stand for them selling us an inferior product.

Great little phone, took mine to the USA last year and was the only one in the group who had service from Chicago to LA along Route 66. Even survived a pretty good drenching as we cooled down at Hoover dam. Has enough features to keep me happy as long as I dont want to try and surf the WWW.

An excellent phone for the money; very feature-rich for this price point. Yes, the screen is so-so, but not at all bad; it's still on-par with those on comparably-priced competitors' clamshells (that often have fewer features). The camera is only VGA, but is one of the best VGA I've used. Photos taken with it look much better on a monitor than on the screen. The fact that it takes microSD (transflash) is a huge plus in my book, given the meager 4 mb onboard, and allows me to load it up with apps, music and photos. The inclusion of EDGE speed makes for a good internet experience and it can be tethered to a laptop to use as a modem. Also great is the A2DP bluetooth support. The sound quality of speaker playback of mp3 and radio is excellent, for a phone speaker. The inclusion of the radio itself is another nice feature. Also great is the fact that it's quadband... while mine is locked to a domestic carrier, I use a hypersim to unlock it for overseas travel and it works well.
My only minor quibbles are that the plastic housing seems a bit flimsy compared with some other clamshell phones, although I like the metal fascia; the proprietary pop-port connector instead of normal headset and USB ports; and overall it's a tad chunky. A slimmer profile would be better for everyday carry in a pocket.
All in all, it's yet another great product from Nokia!

I received this phone in March 2009 and am quite pleased with it except the message tone. It is very low and the message ring comes on just once so if you are not near the phone at the time you will not know that one came in unless you view it on the phone. Is there a way to change this? I really need to know.

have been using this phone for over 9 months now, and it's a great phone. i dropped it quite often and i only used about $15 to get it done. love the keypad, love the color (i got myself the pink one), and the size is just great.the design's not odd, the ringtone's okay ... overall a great phone.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-03-29 12:56 from vxufI hear my ringer just fine bud. Maybe its not the phone maybe you need the wax cleaned out of your ears. Go to the doctor tell him you cant hear your phone ring. Maybe you have hearing problems because my ringer is loud it could wake the dead.

> In reply to gerolle @ 2009-04-23 06:34 from vaPxNot a very good phone? Why because you dont know how to take care of it. Youre probably one of those people who slap the phone open and shut real hard by holding the base of the phone. Well no $hit it wont hold up. I been using mine for awhile and its been great works just like the day i bought it. I do take care of it like an adult though. Its a phone not a piece of iron. You nuts? Stop giving false reviews because you break everything you put your hands on. Keep your meat hooks off it and the phone will be fine im sure unless you already broke it you toddler.

My ex got this phone back in 2OO7 she turned me on to nokia she is turned on by big fat guys who look grease monkeys. she does have good taste in phones i must say. I got my nokia 6085 about 4 months ago and its been an outstanding phone. Battery life is great. The design is very friendly easy to get to the keys to text message fast. The memory is a bit low so i added a 2 gig chip and the internet works nice now. The best cell phone i ever owned. Alot of people dont like it because i think the knock the phone around and expect it to hold up. This is not the kind of phone to be dropping over and over sooner or later it will break. Its a phone not a piece of iron. People complain the screen is to small. I can see the screen just fine its perfect. The bigger the screen the quicker the battery will give out it takes more juice to run a bigger screen. People complain about the camera picture quailty. Well this isnt a digital camera it is a phone. The picture quailty isnt great but when you transfer the picture to your computer its pretty clean and crisp. The screen on the phone isnt going to offer great quailty. For the price of this phone i think it deserves more credit. Its a great phone dont listen to what others are saying. This is the true review.
