it's a great phone. I love it. But it has really bad reception (t-mobile). I had the Razor and the Pebl and Nokia 6610 but the 6103 has the worst reception. Does anybody else have the same problem? Is there anything to do? download some software or buy and antenna booster (do these things work?) thanks for any help or advice.

Great Phone!! As bizz says Nokia's are the most reliable Phone in the World along with great battery life and very good reception.Moto's are junk and Sammies are good for the most part. Ericsson even with Sony couldn't get it right and are pretty much gone from the US.

just bought it two days ago... everything is fine...except the memory storage> 4.2MB ONLY!! too small even to keep a song. therefore, the MP3 player in this phone is useless! regret to buy this phone. nevertheless, it's fine --- for only usual communication' use ---

to whom who has this phone: what do u think?

First of all, in the U.S., Nokia has the best signal, and the lowest return rate. It has been proven time and time again! Perfect Samsung and Sony? When did that happen. Look, if we really do research, we will see that Nokia is the most durable, reliable, and affordable phone on the market. Motorola Razr? Nice design, horrible performance. Samsung is okay, but none of these phones on the market are as reilaible as a Nokia. I would put any of my Nokia phones up against any Samsung or any other phone any day.

Nokia does have tri-band phones in it's line up and they are not $200 phones. The Nokia 6101 and 6103 are triband phones and neither are over $150.

The Nokia 6103 is a better phone than the 6101. The bluetooth is the first reason. Then it has the soft skin shell which feels really good in your hands. The infared works very well also. Both the Nokia 6101 and 6103 have a vga camera. However, the 6103 will be sold a lot more than the 6103 was. The keypad is raised and it has a more attractive look to it. Get yours soon.

This phone was created to mass, budget choice for people that dont pay more than $200 for a phone, people that dont have the $400 or $500 for 6230i or SE W800. In thisw case i go with SE Z520 that have more memory and BT

It's like the 6101, the only difference is the Bluetooth and the 6103 has less memory than the 6101. They should produce a phone with exactly the same desing as the 6101 and exactly the same fonctions as the 6230i, this should be a perfect phone, the only thing that Nokia should change on the DESING is to phone of different colours for exemple: red, blue and clear blue, pink and clear pink, purple and clear purple, green like above on performance, black, white, yellow, etc... because phones with funny colours are better sold. It's only my opinion, I hope you like it.

The 6101 also has a VGA camera, not a megapixel one!

its not the same as the 6101 for camera quality, this is only 640*480 VGA when the camera for the 6101 was 1.3mega pixel, nokia made the camera worse on a newer updated model (idiots)

If Nokia 6103 is the same as 6101/6102 ( with only difference is added bluetooth), then it will have the same bad issues as 6101/6102:

MY SISTER HAS 6101 and
1)Very low earpiece volume (6170 is loud and perfect bytheway, because it is thicker!)
2)Very cheap slow processor ( menu system is slow as hell)

I HAVE 6170 and
1) The only Nokia phone today that has mature look
2)Phone has loud and clear volume (thanks to its normal thickness -DUH!)
3) Very well-organized and very fast menu!

SHAME ON NOKIA
But the only perfect or normal Nokia phones today are 6170, 6260, and 5140

Well it doesn't matter how many more bands the phone has.... in the USA we only use 850/1900mhz anything extra would be for overseas roaming...Does it cost them that much? probably not....but what you have to realize is that International capability is a high end feature and most likely if the phone has this is also going to have another high end feature to it....and yes the complete package will jack up the price...I'm telling you right now...NOKIA tends to work the best out of most manufacurers. The 6102 has given us a very good customer feedback (there is always a lime here and there) but as a whole nokia is pretty realiable.... PS. the older and simpler the NOKIA the better they seem to work LOL....

WHY NOBODY ANSWERS THE QUESTION?
Everyone here screams like he is a big technology freak, but no one can answer the question about GSM frequency added into a cell phone?

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE:

How do extra frequencies are added into a cell phone? Does it really cost to Nokia extra $100 to make 850/1800/1900 phone instead of 850/1900?

Cheap Nokia USA phones are not bad. They cost around $100, and have a good quality.
But they always have only american frequencies (850/1900). Any Nokia phone that has 1800 or 900 or both as well, will cost at least $200.

IS THIS A $$$$$$$$ Stragedy to Push more expensive phones, or does the extra frequency really cost so much?????????????????????????

LOOK:
6103 for american version 850/1800/1900
quote: ( "by mistake 900 is missing)
(also, "by mistake 1.3 megapixel junk is missing)

900 is NOT USED IN NORTH AMERICA!!!!

is not missed, is just not so needed. a triband phone is enough to go almost anywhere. and sometimes is used just to retrain the phones and not being sold outside it destined region.

the 6101 had a VGA because VGA last year was supposed to mid range phones but every year it goes up a level. so now they have 1.3mpx. they did not forget it!! is just strategy.

BYTHEWAY:
Do you know why Nokia, Samsung and Sony produce so many new models for the last two years and alot of them have similar design?
(just look at Nokis flip/clamshell, 6101, 6103, 6125, etc...)

SIMPLE BECAUSE, all previous year models SUCK! So Nokia, Samsung and Sony have to pump up tones of new models, to fool people.
People will think, that since there are all new models this year, they will have better quality ( HAHA, NO THEY WON'T!).

NOW LOOK AT
Sharp and Panasonic phones range very carefuly. They haven't produced so many new models, because their old models work perfectly.

ENOUGH?
DUH!
