Hi, I've just got this phone. My previous phone was a samsung D900 and it had a really useful feature - for me anyway. I use the alarm clock every day, with the Samsung the alarm would come on when the phone was switched off, a great battery saving device.
I can't find anything like this on the 6110 - am I missing something or doesn't it have this feature.
I get the same error message even if i type it the same way as the example?
This phone is absolutely fantastic!!! The GPS is very accurate in Cape Town and its free (as long as assisted GPS is off). As a smartphone, it functions very well - the phone is fast and applications work great! I just wished that the camera had auto-focus, but it serves my requirements well enough, I have a 8MP digicam anyways.
Keep up the good work, Nokia.
When you type in your address look carefully at the example they give you. You need to type the street name first then the number then the city. You should have better luck that way. I do not know how you were doing it before but just check against the example.
Hope that helps.
hi, i just want to find out about the battery life, how long does it last. how do i activate the gps.
I got the 6110 its not bad.
I just keep gettin problems when trying to load the gps. I type in an address and it says 'No search results. Please check your search string.'

For a few day i was looking to find a good phone to a acceptable price, finally i have to choose between 6110 and n81,n73 and the winnwr is....6110,seems the best choice.I like very much n96 but tooooo expensive, doesn't worth the investment,no phone does...
hi me again, went searching through the reviews and for those of you who don't want to go through the some hundred or so opinions this is what i found here about the GPRS.
For people who are confused by this, the Nokia 6110 has its own GPS receiver, tyou can connect to satellites free of charge and you dont have to connect through GPRS
Uh, sorry if I didn't put in the name of the person who wrote the opinion, was in a hurry but thanks for the info. I've sent an email to Vodacom asking about this and let's see what they say.
i also want to know if the GPS is standalone. was trying to decide between the HTC Tytn and the Nav but the Nav has a better screen. I don't use wifi so that's not important and the reviews are more positive about the Nav than the Tytn, although I had a look at the Tytn and it was a nice looking phone. Still will go with Nav.
Awesome cellphone! the gps is really good! work perfectly even in rainy days!
waitin for mine to come from ebay.
ive read so many positive reviews about this phone.
i will add my 2 cents when i get my hands on it. =)
This is an epic phone. The GPS software (route 66) works better than expected. This is a really good allrounder.
i bought my mobile from Saudi Arabia and the navigation worked at and i'm living in Egypt...how can i convert the map from saudi arabia to egypt.....at the end i like this mobile tooooo much and i'm pleased to have it..thanks 4 anyone answer me
i had the 6110 since it came out. its an exelent fone. it can navigate at no network cost. and al sa maps are availeble for free. the gps of the fone works exelent. even better than some stand alone gps receivers. the is no aditional charges. just buy the fone
Hey i have had this mobile 2 weeks backs its really gr8 mobile from NOKIA. too easy to use,,,, The Navigator its really a great feature with NOKIA...
I am serious about the Nokia 6110Nav.
I live in South Africa. is the maps freely available.
Secondly, is the GPS GPRS data dependant or is it like a Garmin that can act standalone.
Let me know...
Okay. So I work in a phone outlet in Australia. First of all, someone asked how this phone compares to the N95. One. The N95's maps cost to use. I keep having ppl that are told they don't. They do. Trust me. Two. The N95 has a LOT of features. Which is great BUT because of this the battery life is not terribly good. Three, the N95 has software problems. This is not as big of a problem as it sounds though, a simple software upgrade will fix this 99.9% of the time. Basically you need to weigh up what features you need more. I opted for the nav but my partner has the N95. If you need gps but are tight like me then the nav is the way to go. If you need the WLAN and the better camera then obviously the N95.
Someone else asked about the 6500 slide. NOO!!!!!! DO NOT DO IT! Don't get me wrong these are fantastic phones... When they work!! (which isnt often) Major software errors and they will show up within the first week. If you're tossing up between that and this, look no further!!
Finally, I get around 3-4 days out of the battery on this one. I use it constantly and it is never turned off. My mum has the same phone and she probably gets at least a week out of it. If you use the gps lots, it will chew it. Fast. First day I got it I used gps all day and it died by that afternoon.
This is one of the 2 most reliable phones we sell and boy do they walk off the shelf:)
