I am thinking of getting this phone on an optus $49 plan. DOes it cost any extra on the plan to use the GPS or is it seperate. Does the voice on the GPS come with the phone or do you have to pay for download from nokia. The sales person could not tell me. Any other better plans out there than optus

I was reading the vodafone monthly magazine and it says the pay as you go version is £300.
But if you look on ebay some sellers are selling in excess of that amount.
My thoughts are that you get the 6110 from vodafone.

("I've just bouught this phone in malaysia and i could say i'm quite impressed with it. No flaws but i'm curious. Is there any way to update the map. I think the map for Malaysia is not updated. Most of the time i find myself stucked in somewhere not in the map. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks!")
Eric,
I just bought this phone and from Malaysia too, but i've lost my map due to memory card error. Could you mail me a copy of your map?
Thanks!

Does the gsp operate independently or do you have to be connected though the network?
Ther eis some contradictaroy information that without being connected to the provider's network the gps won't work.
Any clarificatin would be much appreciated

When is GSM Arena going to review this phone? I'm getting a headache reading all the "opinions" from Optus, Vodafone, Strathfield salesmen, and I'm sure average joe's idea of a "good" phone does not line up with mine. Give us an objective review please.

jay,
i work at vodafone, the 6110 is $749 outright, or $12 per month on a $49 cap.

the reason the lights come off and on is because of the light sensor on the front of the phone. if there is sufficient natural light around you then the phone recognises it and the backlight commes off. it is not a defect, it is an battery saving feature

The lights going on and off on the key pad is because it is light sensitive and on nokia sometimes it doesnt work as good as other brands..
