£300?!!? hardly, it's worth about £180.
I use it quite a bit for texting and man does it drain out the battery, I get about 2-4 days out of this, where as my 6230i would last me about a week! Does anyone know how to turn off the SMS/Missed call light indicator thing? I can't be bothered to look in my manuel.

Thanks a lot, Thomas. Modem issue is also solved. I've still got problems with sending MMS messages however... :-( Either with configuration by hand (from my provider web page) or with automated configuration sent by SMS from nokia web page: "E" icon just shows up for about 2 sec and then disapears. I can't send and receive MMS messages... Did anybody met similar problem?

Hey, i've bought 6131 yesterday. And it's fantastic (so far)! I've got two questions to other users, help would be kindly appreciated. First: is there a "click" when pushing the fold open button in your models? In mine there is and in one i looked at in store there wasn't so i'm not sure wherther this is faulty or not. And the second questions is that i can't connect to internet from my laptop via bluetooth. Nothing happens actually except error message (though computer does connect to the phone). Is there anything else i should set in the phone except Connectivity->Package... ...->Access point name? My operator refuses to configure my phone cos they don't sell it yet (hehehehe ;->).
Thanks in advance
Kuba

Oh I See! In Singapore, we are not entitle to exchange even the phone have some fault.
We will advise to bring to the Service Ctr for repair but actually it's unfair. New phone sent for repair, don't feel good...
In the past, within seven days exchange policy for Nokia phones but not no longer in Singapore as we have no strong consumer fair and protection law here to take care of that...
Buy nokia phones at your own risk or depend on your luck...

Erm first of all i hadn't been ABLE to use the phone when it didn't work! I think a phone i'm paying line rental of £30 a month for means i'm entitled to take it back if it doesn't work. The camera had an error the first time and wouldn't work, the second time a message stuck in my outbox which led to a permanent message on my front screen meaning i couldn't use the phone for anything at all. Third time the sound was so distorted i could't hear any calls. Fourth time a button fell off less than 4 hours after i got it. Why should I put up with any of those faults for a phone thats worth £300?
If the phone is faulty within 28 days T Mobile and Nokia allow you to exchange it for another one. After 28 days, you have to send it to the Repair Centre to be repaired. That is why i have been able to exchange a faulty model several times. Its a 28 day satifaction guarantee or something.

Though is has only a 1.3mega camera but given the slim size, 1.6 million colors, expandable to 2 Gb, and so on.. also cheap.
Where can you find such a good deal...
Pls don't complain anymore here...
Even you buy mercedes or BMW still not perfect..
Those who hesitate to buy, go ahead and buy..
Don't listen to those not even use the phone and keep complaining and complaining...Weird.

jt81,
I'm puzzled that the shop you bought this Nokia 6131 are so kind to let you change 5 times. I thought they will ask you to so to Nokia service centre instead.
From what I know is that dealer got the phones from Distributor and they cannot return for unsold phones. If your last 4 sets with them, what they going to do with it.
Maybe, it's not true that the phone has problem or maybe it's you who want to undermine this phone. Pls advise.

Well got my 5th one, they tried to give me one that had bad sound, but i wouldn't accept it. Seems to be working great so fingers crossed.
Light indication on the mini display for missed calls and messages - when you get a message it vibrates and does the normal stuff. But if you don't open the phone to read the message, or look at the missed call, every couple of minutes it flashes with the backlight, on off on off a few times. You can turn this feature off though if you want. Although if you have your phone on your desk at work it comes in handy if you didn't see the phone go off in the first place - it catches your eye.

Did anybody reviewed the A2DP question? For some time nokia stated that this phone would support stereo bluetooth headsets/gateways. But it seems now that stereo audio is only available via cable...

Yes, early versions of phones are often very buggy. This was also the case with my 6270. After the firmware update a few months ago (and a few drops), it works fine-fine-fine and I consider it very reliable. I believe the 6131 will follow the same pattern...

There is no special Nokia PC Suite for this phone - there is one PC Suite that works with all phones. And that PC Suite doesn't want to work on many PC's. If you're unlucky, you can try to get it work on your PC but success isn't granted - you have to do a lot of stuff, including unistalling PC Suite and registry editing and at the end it can (and most likely will) be futile. Shitty software - that's what it is.

Well, got my fourth one, as I said, thought i'd keep you updated. All working perfefctly fine. Sound quality os great, sends messages, takes pictures.
But this morning when texting, bearing in mind I only got this phone yesterday, the number 3 button decided to come off. Which is great. So now i have to take THIS back for the 4th time and get my FIFTH handset.
I tell you, when I finally get a working model, Nokia are gonna be hearing a complaint from me. How can I go through 5 phones, all with completely different faults?

No problems so far. A fine phone, design is a bit funny, but some may call it "personal".
Battery life seems to be moderate, in heavy use maybe two days... with a few txt and short calls maybe 4 days (phone on during nights).

I've been buying Nokia phones since my first pay as u go chip and their early batches of phones are always faulty...looks like they've kept up their trend with the 6131. I can't wait to get this phone but i'm going to resist temptation and wait a couple of months before i make my purchase.
