actually no most of nokia have have internal antennas, and they have better reception than samgsung sony ericsson or motorolas that actually did. that reception problem its probably your service. nokia is known for having incredible reception. so nokia fan what the hell are you talking about?

This phone would be perfect if not an internal antenna design flaw and unnecessary VGA Camera Junk and unnecessary color screen junk!
6170 Is almost perfect but 20% reception lack is a HUGE CON!-For this phone!
NOKIA: STOP TAKING BAD SAMPLES FROM SONY!
Internal antenna must be under the batterry like on all of your other phones!

this phone is veeery good for his price he had a pretty design a good structured menu and first of all it is a nokia ... hey guys wake up and see cause it is really a good phone !

I am very disappointed with this phone. Initially I was very happy but after 7 months the characters began to fall off the key pad and despite numerous requests to Nokia over '6' weeks - no repair (part not available!!??) or replacement option just a dud phone and below average customer service from Nokia!

SOME CORRECTIONS:
Actually the internal antenna is under the battery and then under the simcard! WHAT A STUPID DESIGN! (and it's all intentionally, because Nokia was so much in a rush to pump out a new model that didn't care about 20% of reception)
WHY DIDN'T GSM ARENA GAVE THIS PHONE A RECEPTION TEST?????, like for example http://www.mobileburn.com usually does.
WELL, NOW GSM ARENA YOU KNOW that next time you see the internal antenna is under the simcard or not visible, that means POOR RECEPTION! (without any special testing).

wow wow...this is a great phone.
Although the memory is very small it is quite sufficient for normal usage...
the feeling of holding the phone is oso not bad.
I have been using this phone for one yr n im very satisfied with the functions, it nv let mi down.
My phone had nv been send for repairing b4...although i dropped it countless time n the surface is still alrite...

WHY DOES INTERNAL ANTENA is hidden too deep under the plastic board? That makes the signal on this phone 20% weaker than on all other Nokia phones!
EVERY OTHER NOKIA, if you look under the battery has internal antenna visibly open, so why not the 6170?! This 20% signal difference wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have the building with very low reception in USA.
OTHER THAN THIS WEIRD THING, this phone is PERFECT!

Pls the Charging system is not working, and the scrolling the down one is frozen. can you do something about it because I like the phone and I don't wants to switch to another phone so Pls do something for me. Thank u

The lens on my 6170 is hazy, and seems to have dust inside. Subsequently all the images I take are blurry and very low quality. Anyone got the same problem? Or know a cure? Aussieland

I have this phone and it's ok,but i don't get it why Nokia put mp3-player on a phone with so little memory and no memory-card slot.The memory it's the only thing I don't like at this phone.

To Alina,
You can email the pics from the phone to your pc email address and then just save them as you normally would. Some of them seem to come out a big dodgy but I've had some excellent pics on my phone.

I've have the phone(6170) for 1 year now and i think to upgrade it (you know 3G, wlan, more Mp, more memory, etc. exp:3280) but i just can't couse I LOOOVE MY NOKIA 6170 i'm happy that nokia&co. descoverd 6170 (hehe).

ok not a lot memory(2.2mb) but.... com'on it have everything else.....

I have had this phone for over a year now and I am finding it very hard to give it up although it doesnt have a lot of memory I love the feal and look of the phone if only Nokia would bring out a phone that had more memory but the class of the 6170 I would buy it like a shot.

Great phone, i have it for 5 months, the only bad thing is it`s memory, the battery is 4-5 days good (more than enough for this type of phone) I mean come on, it`s so slim, where do you want to put a 7-8 days battery in ?? Anyway i recommend this "sexy steel" phone.
