There is no difference between 6233 and its Music Edition. Music Edition comes with a package - 512 MB card and External Speakers. Thats all. There are no extra music buttons or sum enhancement in Music Edition phone. Everything is same...
I got 6233 Last week. Its rocking..
Display is good. Camera (Both Video & Still images) is excellent @ outdoors.
Sorry, but 6233 louspeaker is better sounding than that of the 5300. =)
Digital zoom really works that way. You lose resolution while zooming in. =)
Hey 6233 users
5300 users are claiming that 5300 is much better than 6233 in terms of volum and loudness . Is it true. Just reveal it.
To check this go to 5300 ' s opnion and then insert "6233" in " search openions" enter and you can see all comments regarding 6233

hi hope someone can help. just got this phone luv it. got a 2g microsd card.find that the memory is full after 100 songs.am i able to add more songs and how do i go about it. many thanks
dear RNZT err...it seems nokia's headsets arent sturdy enough hehehe
it happend to me twice with my 6630
with my 7610,
with the n90 too...
err I guess you hsould be really careful in handling them as they are quite fragile hehe
now the only thing you could do is buy a new one...sorry >_<
but I'd recommend in getting that 3.5mm converter hehee so you can buy better quality headsets such as those sennheiser ones hehehehe ^_^
dear chamcham hehe 6233 is priced roughly about 8.5-9k php (pesos) whle the music edition is priced at around roughly...12.5 php
and to the guy who asks about how much memory does a 5 minute song have and how many songs can be stored in a 1gig memory card...well sir there are different factors on the size of a song
lets say a song has 6minutes but it is on low quality it wouldnt take up more than 3mb or even less
but usually mp3's are less than 5mb sooo roughly, you can squeesze in almost 200 songs hehehe in a 1gb card
This phone is awesome shiny and very very customizeable and very userfriendly and functionfilled! Only down side is that its a brick xP. The inbuilt speakers can deafening loud which is good to identify calls in loud areas!!
The 6233 uses CA-53 data cable to connect from the bottom to the computer. Install Nokia PC Studio to install applications using the Application Installer, or just use the Nokia Phone Browser and simple download java games to your computer, and drag to your 6233.
Just for those who are interested, Hong Kong is great for 6233 accessories! I saw a Nokia to 3.5mm headphone jack from $10HK, which is around $1.6AUD
-I have upgraded to latest firmware 5.10v and still experiencing rare restarts (during media playback), less now.
-My warranty just recently ended, and my right earphone just lost its bass, and i can only hear treble. This also happened to my friend's 6280 (same earphone type). What to do?
just bought this phone and have no complains, yet. to connect it to a pc through USB port do a i need a special Nokia cable, i didn't see a USB port like in other Nokia phones?
do you have the latest firmware? If not, upgrade it. This will solve the problem of the phone turning itself off during conversations..The battery can be also the culprit.
it doesnt have the characteristics of a Music Phone ....its more of a Fashion Phone ...even the earphones arnt Music types
and if anyone says the Stereo Speakers that make a Music Phone nope..it isnt a music phone.....
Hi, I've had the Nokia 6233 for over a year now and in the last 3 months it has started to switch itself off in the middle of conversations. This seems to happen when the battery is fully charged / when the charge has come from my car kit (I've had this installed since I had the phone).
Here's the answers to some of your queries guys.
6233 music edition comes in the white colour with a 2GB/1GB microSD card and data cable included in the package. I prefer the black color version as its more classy. you can easily get a higher capacity microSD card and data cable from the market at a much lower cost instead of paying for the 6233 music edition. By the way you can use both the CA-53 and DKU-2 USB cables with the 6233 (works for me). The 6233 is better in video than the 5300 (5300 supports only 3gp, 6233 supports 3gp,mp4 and H.263). the 6233 has a higher capacity battery (3.7V@1100mAH) so more backup , more playing time. Now Mp3 formats. an average MP3 file recorded at 128Kbps, 44,000Khz takes up 1MB per 1 min. Higher the bit rate (164,192,256,320 Kbps) better the quality, and greater the memory size. Cd quality comes at 192Kbps and best is 320Kbps. 128Kbps is a standard and sufficient for normal listening. VBR (variable bit rate ) files are more efficient but it depends on your player whether it supports VBR or not. 6233 supports VBR files (tried on my phone). u can use a high bitrate for using the phone as music player with good quality headphones through the audio adapter. for a ringtone i recommend the normal 128 Kbps CBR (constant bit rate) or VBR file. U can save the video files on the memory card as well as phone memory (u can select the folder from the settings in camera mode) the phone will display the time it can record depending on the free memory available. To use the photo id you need to have the contacts stored on your phone memory (not SIM memory) the phone supports 500 contacts. To install Jar file you need to install nokia PC suite on your PC and use its Installer feature. you can install using IR, Bluetooth or data cable. I recommend using the data cable (its faster and easier). when you download anything using WAP over GRPS with EDGE, the default location is the phone memory which cannot be changed, however the phone automatically asks for the memory card when the phone memory is used up. u can always move the data from the phone memory to the memory card. Nokia says that the 6233 supports upto 1GB, i've been using a 2GB Transcend microSD without any problem. Just format the new card from the phone (not a PC) for trouble free use. The battery backup of the 6233 is great, works upto 4-5 days on a single charge. the phone can work upto a day even when the battery meter is near the end. I recommend users to give full charge and discharge cycles for the battery for best performance and longer battery life.
I hope this answers your queries.
